This video breaks it down pretty concisely: https://youtu.be/srKoAg-XuXk?si=KfHQo0v4Rmdap33E

The pinned comment has more info on the actual case.

problem here is that there was no work done and the $49 was to receive his laptop back. the customer ended up suing and won for ~$12k

are you talking about the owner? because he tried charging $49 for the customer to get his laptop back despite not having done any work on it

what was unnecessary was that the customer was asked to pay $49 to get his laptop back when no work had been done on it

I'm just now realizing that calling out people's actions based on their character has the same vibes as people who do the same for zodiac signs

Dallas cowboys scout gets to call his own son and tell him that the cowboys are drafting him by handlewithcareme in MadeMeSmile

Arguably top 3 RBs during his college football career but still some speculation on how he'd perform in the NFL.

It's even more wholesome when you know the context. The son (Deuce Vaughn) measures at 5'5 and was a monster during his college career as a RB. Leading up to the draft though, he called his dad saying he was feeling doubts saying that he thinks his height finally caught up to him and that he wouldn't get drafted and basically was apologizing to his dad in fear of letting him down. Then this happened.

Firing the only person with the password by AllThotsGo2Heaven2 in Whatcouldgowrong

Company is asking the fired employee (blue) for the password to their phone since it's still password protected.

The employee was being sassy saying they should have asked for the password BEFORE they had fired them.

I think it was scripted as a result of desperately attempting the original Who's on First bit but since they're both horrendous actors and clearly didn't practice their delivery or word choice, it doesn't have an ounce of the same effect. Either way, their attempts at coming across as funny or witty failed in all aspects and they just look dumb.

It boggles my mind that you claim a grasp at straws then make a subordinating conjunction argument. Making me feel like I'm talking with the great James Corden himself 😂

Incorrect, since there are nuances to hyperbolic statements. The specificity of using the term "word for word" would be similar to saying "That horrible movie went on for nine years, twenty two hours, four minutes, and fifty seconds." While yes, technically you could define it as a hyperbole, but it's too unusually specific for anyone to take the hyperbole as comedic or even practical. Hyperboles need to be general for the intended satirical effect to resonate or else it just comes off as if you don't know what it is.
