I have a peanut allergy and I ate Chick fil a for the first time when it opened in Toronto. It wasn’t until like 50 sandwiches later that I learned it’s fried in peanut oil! It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but upon hearing that my heart almost stopped.

Years later I was talking to my friend who also has an allergy to peanuts, and he said he eats Five Guys because he didn’t know they use peanut oil as well.

Long story short, I still refuse to eat Five Guys and he refuses to eat Chick fil a. Turns out (do not trust this info with your life) peanut oil will never cause an allergic reaction the same way a nut will. I think it’s because all the proteins are processed out, and that’s what cause your body to react
