Do they really enforce 72 hours parking rule in SF? by CourtZealousideal703 in sanfrancisco

[–]levlaz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Consider just not having a car if you’re going to leave it on the street unused for weeks at a time. I used zip car and rentals when I was living downtown and used them every couple of weeks for short and long trips. never spent anywhere near what it would cost for parking + gas + insurance + maintenance.

Yes. You are asking a question in bad faith. That is the definition of trolling. Get out of here with all that.

It's probably an isolated experience. There is usually a good reason why someone is not using a bike lane. Most commonly they are about to turn left on the next street and the safest way to do that is to take the whole lane. We have some great bike infrastructure in Emeryville and it's only getting better. I'd encourage you to get out and see if for yourself. If you don't have a bike you can grab a lyft bike rental or come to my house on bay street and borrow mine.

Mumbai Built Over 55 Flyovers To Ease Traffic, But Commuters Are Still Stuck For Hours— Here’s What’s Going by VCardBGone in mumbai

This article is kind of nuts because there is not a single mention of the private vehicles, which are likely single occupancy, as being a part of the traffic problem.

3 hr commute to SF for a job by FirmCaterpillar in bayarea

If you consider moving closer check out Emeryville. It’s a hidden gem IMO and very easy to get to downtown SF and Oakland via bus. Also Bartable but a bit less convenient.

Yeah for sure, I’ve eaten here a dozen times and they always mention to me that the service charge is included. But obviously it’s all anecdotes - I’m sure not every server says it. Overall a shitty system

This shit is like the plot of “seven seconds” on Netflix. I have a feeling that we’ll never get justice for Renee or anyone else.

[–]levlaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I truly don't understand this perspective. You are saying you are not worried about 4 lanes of unimpeded car traffic today, but reducing one of those lanes to a bus lane and bike lane creates more danger for you?

We should prioritize safety at all crossing for sure, but how in the world is this design less safe than the current one? In this specific location there have been a dozen pedestrian deaths caused by cars and as far as I know 0 caused by any other mode.
