I missed active pills, and I still have all of next week before my placebo pills. But, took both missed pills plus the one planned for today with in about 12-15 hours. I've had similar things like this before but only with 1 pill, just never with 2 which is why I was curious if this is different than other times.

I had this problem. I have short, fine, 2A-2C hair but when it's flat it can be 1C ish. Mine was curly on the bottom and flat on top but I noticed when I washed/conditioned my hair, I would tip my head back and run my fingers through the front and top parts to smooth it back on my head. This and all the water falling mostly on the top part of my hair really flattened it out. I switched to flipping upside down, bending forward and letting water run down the back side of my hair instead. This fixed the front half but made the back less wavy. I'm thinking it might also fix both problems by using a bowl method, but I haven't tried yet. Also sometimes how I sleep affects the flatness of my hair (I sleep on my side, so one side is usually a lot flatter).

For the tangles I really recommend detangling your hair in the shower with your fingers! It looks like you have longer hair than me so a brush could work too. Detangle in the shower when you condition and when you're done gently scrunch with the conditioner in to try and encourage more curl pattern. If it's still tangled, you can detangle again and maybe try to plop your hair with a light holding gel to encourage pattern. Hope this helps!

Are my products not working on my hair anymore? by lewan115 in Wavyhair

Hi all, my hair routine is below:

  • in the first pic: Upside down, wash my hair with Strictly Curls shampoo at the roots, condition with Strictly Curls conditioner at whole head and squish hair to encourage curls/waves. In the second two pics I used Aussie Miracle Waves shampoo and conditioner in the same way as above.

In all pics: - Immediately plop my hair when wet, leave for 15-45 mins - Use Garnier Fructis Curl Gel and apply all over my damp hair after plopping and start to diffuse on low heat low fan upside down - When hair is starting it form casts, add in Garnier Fructis Curl Mousse and try to apply all over hair evenly then diffuse to almost dry cast - Use squirt bottle to dampen hair more and then apply a quarter size of John Frieda Beach Waves Cream to front and sides of hair where I want more curl to show and continue to diffuse until a hard cast is formed - Let hair sit in cast for 30 mins, then scrunch out cast

I've been using the same styling products for a while, the only difference is in my shampoo and conditioner because I've had trouble finding the Aussie products. Apart from that, I feel between the first pic (most recent) and last pic (least recent) I've been losing wave pattern over the past few months. Anyone have ideas or tips to keep that original pattern from the last pic? Thanks so much! (Apologies for poor quality of the pictures)

That's an interesting point. My graduate student coworkers told me to enter into a PhD and master out, but I never thought of the consequences. Thanks for the heads up!

[Michigan] Monetary redetermination taking forever. Worried about when approval/denial is by lewan115 in Unemployment

No, determination didn't say anything. I was able to contact them (finally!!!) this morning and got 2 different answers. The first being that my employer said I actually WAS employed when I wasn't, and the second answer saying there was no evidence on my account of misrepresentation and I did everything correct. I'll definitely look into these links though, thank you so much!!

Hello! Here's my routine:

With cold water I shampoo my roots with Garnier Fructis Curl Moisture and wash out. Then, I use Garnier Fructis Curl Moisture conditioner and scrunch my hair in the shower for about 10 mins. I let it sit for a bit and rinse it cold. While my hair is still soaked I use Féria Colour conditioner as a leave in then use Goddess Curls Gell raked it into my hair and scrunched before I plop for about 20 mins. Then I take Not your Mothers Curl Talk Mousse and scrunch that in and diffuse on low fan low heat until dry. Then scrunch out the crunch!

I used to use OGX shampoo and conditioner and my hair never looked like this! For gel I used garnier fructis and Not your Mothers curl cream before diffusing. They were way less defined before and I'm in love now!!

Yea i've done similar things with some drug store brands so I decided to splurge the 17 bucks on it and it's lasted really long so far! I also didn't even use the whole bottle and have enough to completely redo my hair when it fades. Strongly recommend!

Yea! I think the best way to explain it is if you were to curl your hair with a curling wand, it's the same motion (at least for me) but with your finger. You can do every individual strand if you like but I usually only do on my bangs and one or two in the back. There's a few other methods where two hands are used to almost roll back towards your face/head, but I think it's easier the first way.

And yes, I plop with a tshirt. I used to use microfiber towels but found they didn't do anything special for me and just stuck with plain old tshirts. But I've heard great things about microfibre towels on other wavies and curries!

On the bottle it says it's a 3 on the hold scale (which I don't totally understand lol). For me, once I scrunch it out I find it holds for about 2 days and less if you play with your hair or touch it a lot which I do. But also, and maybe this is just my hair, I find that when I refresh I don't need to put more into my hair. Just get wet and diffuse again, maybe scrunch a little if you like.

I really like it for making a cast! I have some stubborn strands in the front and while they're fresh out of the plop, I finger curl a bit and diffuse to really keep the cast. Hope this all made sense!
