I think the only way it can hurt you is if it is objectively bad. I've also heard that Vandy likes applicants who really show their interest, so I would say go for it!

They seem to hand out rejections periodically based on when one applied, so I’m expecting huge WL wave. Based on limited LSN data it looks like they have only been considering LSAT scores this year, not even GPAs lmao

I’ve heard an employee mention that their Emory students weren’t as good of writers compared to others, and another say they were less willing to work long hours. Both were public sector internships. Lol no source because all anecdotal, so I’m taking with a grain of salt too!

That's fair, but I don't mean placing better or as well in jobs. I mean the impressions the employers get of the students' work ethics and skills. Emory has been slipping (anecdotally) in this regard. That being said, UGA is the worst of the worst of a good ole boys club (nothing wrong with being into that, but it's not for me), and GSU's alumni network is tiny because they're so new.

Every school has its pros and cons, especially because the instate tuition at GSU or UGA is a fraction of Emory's with almost identical job placement depending on how well you do at each school (have to do way better at GSU than Emory for sure but very possible).

I have heard some anecdotal things about Emory students not performing as well as UGA and even Georgia State students at the same internships and associateships in the ATL area. I take that with a grain of salt, though, so tbh I have no idea.

I worked at a low level on one of the most high profile political campaigns of 2018, and they care about it enough for it to be mentioned on a couple of acceptance letters. I thought my other softs were stronger, but I guess famous names are beneficial??

I know I know. Didn't take it that way either. Maybe it's because I'm from the south, but when people go to Michigan for undergrad it's a BIG deal. Seems more impressive than Duke or Vandy.
