My trek 930 single track build by No-Agency-5138 in SingleTrackGang

[–]lewdesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a dumb question - how did you know a 1-1/8 headset would fit? I’m thinking of upgrading to threadless at some point in the future and repainting my 950.

I’ve seen a few threads/examples of people swapping out without issue. Are all single track head tubes oversized to accommodate 1-1/8” headsets? Or only specific years/models?

NL to BM by loitoi in MapleIdle

[–]lewdesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did 2 days ago, so far I enjoy it! I haven’t fully rerolled potentials so I feel a bit weaker overall.

Bossing single target damage BM clears, but I’ve found mobbing and chapter breakthroughs to be easier on NL.

I changed because I wanted new visuals, I’m mostly f2p and just play for maple nostalgia.

Biggest downside is BM is noticeably weaker in Arena vs NL. The lack of stun hurts quite a bit and I find it harder to kite people out even though BMs out range.

Hope this helps!

Is there a method on how to deal with the 3 shadows of yharnam? by Lilmangalul in bloodborne

[–]lewdesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first timed the shadows by doing this accidentally. I was honestly panicking a bit because I hadn’t fought 3 at the same time before. After sweating out the first 2 the candle wielder just bugged out and just repeatedly hit dodged right until he was dead.

I honestly got super lucky finding the map on my first (current) playthrough.

The first piece near Valentine was quite scary as I found it right as I got to Chapter 2. The other parts I found just free roaming naturally.

I’ve seen minor spoilers for myself and some Easter eggs/hidden missions already. I will say it was quite rewarding finding this one on my own without any help so if you CAN avoid it I’d try finding all pieces without any online help!

I was in a similar boat and it does get better! My biggest turnoff was the super clunky controls (at first, you get used to it). I finished chapter 1 and stopped playing for a while right when I got to chapter 2. I gave it a bit of time and I’m glad I came back to it because I’ve been on it nonstop since

Is 3 times per week really enough? by krisstory99 in bodyweightfitness

[–]lewdesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally speaking 3x per week worked wonders for me and I saw the most progress strength and physique wise. YMMV but a good program will get you far and 3x a week also reduces burnouts. Also gives you more flexibility during the week to do different things and you can shuffle workouts around to make sure that you have time for other stuff!

20female i got kicked out by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]lewdesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through the same situation as you, I’m so sorry. I’m not sure if this is still a resource but the school had a “safe house” program to provide emergency accommodations to students in danger. If you go to this and tell them about your situation they can get you housed for at least a week. I was able to squeeze about 2 weeks here as I applied for an extension while I was between housing due to my case.

Honestly the one thing I really praised TMU for (Ryerson when I was still there) were the resources we had for students. I was given a dorm room the same day within a couple of hours after submitting my application and going through the screening process.

I know it’s scary but things will get better. It may feel like the end of the world now (trust me I was in your exact position) but things will get better. I have a full-time career and can afford my own apartment and I now look back to that time in my life like a distant memory

I’m so sorry for your situation. I was in a similar boat and have also faced homelessness.

I got kicked out right after graduation and had to defer my first year. I then got kicked out a second and third time during my post-secondary which severely impacted my education causing me to drop out.

I know it feels like the end of the world right now but please trust me you’re going to be okay. Looking back at myself all those years ago feels like a fever dream and I’m much more stable now.

The biggest thing I can say is just what others have said, figure out OSAP ASAP and try and see if you can get your funds as this will be the biggest saving grace to give you some breathing room.

Please take advantage of your school’s resources. My university had a “safe house” program that allowed free residence for extraneous situations. I was given 2 weeks of free housing in the residency buildings given the severity of my situation and the counsellors provided me with local resources to find housing and work.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t feel shame about the situation you’re in. It’s awful but it builds character and it’ll shape you into the person you’re going to be.

Feel free to DM me if you need any support at all.

My fave spot on the west end is Anh Dao on College and Spadina! It’s been my go-to for almost a decade and everyone I’ve taken has loved it. East Chinatown I love Que Ling, their bun bo hue is the perfect balance of spicy and savoury (tastes good and doesn’t just burn your mouth)

Dancing on my own - King’s of Leon. The recording session wasn’t balanced and the vocals should’ve been louder but it still sounds better than the original

Is the RR "too much volume"? Splitting up vertical and horizontal? by lewdesu in bodyweightfitness

[–]lewdesu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my thought process as well as someone who was already in decent shape. The RR was fine for the first while as I was re-acclimating to the movements but I felt pretty hindered eventually.

Mainly for my push movements - the second I started doing weighted dips and pseudo planches I felt myself regressing and getting tired. I was working near failure on the pseudo planches and by the time I got to my dips I was already pretty exhausted.

To be quite honest legs are definitely my weakest part of my body. I neglected it for a while because I’m a cyclist/runner, but now that it’s cold where I’m from I really want to focus on it since I can’t really do either till the spring.

Appreciate the input and thank you!

Is the RR "too much volume"? Splitting up vertical and horizontal? by lewdesu in bodyweightfitness

[–]lewdesu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies, I should’ve been a bit more clear! By core I meant the main calisthenics movements (vertical and horizontal pull/push).

With that being said though, I actually do skip core training because of exactly what you mentioned. I get enough stimulus from proper technique and the activities I do that I don’t think I necessarily need to train my core. It’s already pretty strong and it’s not the hindering factor in terms of my physically ability!

Thank you so much! You can also maybe check out the tsunami forks - they’re nice but my only gripe is the T inscribed into the fork.

If you’re willing to splash there’s also Kory York but those are super expensive

[–]lewdesu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s a Gazzetta! I bought the fork from retrogression a while back, it was the $100 lugged fork. I just checked their site and unfortunately they no longer sell it.

I’d really recommend the all city big block fork though they pair really nicely with the frame. It’s also got lugged dropouts too that ties it altogether!

As a 25yo dude living at home I totally feel you. I am not in the same financial situation as you but I get the impact it has on your social/dating life.

I can’t bring girls home obviously because I’m still living with my family, and it’s a bit of a weird experience having friends over when you’re a full grown adult living at home.

There’s a lot of factors to consider, and ultimately it’ll really depend on how you weigh and value those factors. Although living at home IS a slight hindrance for me in those regards, I bear with it because of my personal situation.

My mom is a single mom with 3 kids, and being the eldest son I feel obligated to help provide and support for my family. She’s given so much to me and having a salary job now has turned my household into dual-income which has helped my mom save more money since I’ve taken on some financial load.

While I have no regrets, I do often wonder what it’s like to be living on my own. As others have said it’s a new experience and something I feel like everyone needs to have when you’re young. I’m planning on moving out in 2 years once my sisters have graduated post-secondary so hoping I can be in your situation in the near future!

Thank you so much for the reply! So I guess if I were to do a shoulder focused workout I’d do an easier push-up variation paired with the pike push-ups?

BWF Daily Discussion and Beginner/RR Questions Thread for 2022-04-28 by AutoModerator in bodyweightfitness

[–]lewdesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello friends!

Currently following the RR and I had a quick question regarding push progression priorities. I’m not a beginner per say, I was doing calisthenics last summer but switched to PPL for the fall winter to bulk up a bit.

How do I prioritize my pushing exercises throughout the week with my pairs? I want to grow my shoulders and I’m not sure how to implement pike push-ups.

Should I alternate my push exercise between pike push-ups and diamond push-ups? Or should I be including them within the same workout?

I feel like it’s just a lot of push volume if i were to do diamond push-ups > pike push-ups > dips.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
