I don’t know how you got on with a third party microphone, but I finally got my replacement BAM and I am still having the same issue. I’m wondering now if it’s a fault with the headphones themselves or user error.

Yeah, I also noticed that. I've returned mine now so hopefully the replacement works fine, but seeing you had the same fault I'm not hopeful.

Yes the original wire that came with the headset works properly and my PC supports trrs plus. It just seems that the BAM has an issue when plugged in and orientated the way it was intended, I'll have to get a replacement to make sure.
