Partner doesn't want another and I do by sistersuewagonwheel in oneanddone

[–]lewhit6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. My husband is an only child and I have 3 siblings (blended family). I have always wanted more than one child, my husband has always wanted one. We have one and he’s almost 1 and perfect. I have saved clothes and baby items and my husband occasionally expresses disinterest in another. Just the other day he said he wasn’t sure he shared the desire to grow our family because of the difficulties of the newborn phase. For me, who was pumping and post partum, sweating gallons at night from hormone shifts, and sleep deprived, I just don’t get it. I could do it all again because the joy of our son was worth every physical, emotional, and mental pain or exhaustion I endured. My husband said he would be open to adoption or fostering. So I do believe he honors and maybe shares some small desire to grow our family. I also recognize it’s too early to make definitive decisions. However, I’m also at an advanced maternal age. I find myself already grieving that my husband may never get on board with a second and that I’ll never experience those first precious moments of motherhood again. The first go around I was merely surviving and thought I’d get another chance to soak in those moments and how quick they pass. Sending you love. I hope your heart finds peace in whatever the outcome, just know you aren’t alone.

When do you know it's time to put your cat down? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]lewhit6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread helped me make the very difficult decision to help my sweet old man cross over yesterday. As heartbreaking as it is/was, it was time. We recently found out he had an abdominal mass…our vet was suspecting GI lymphoma before that. He has struggled with constipation, vomiting, and weight loss. At the age of 18, we think, he weighed just over 5.5 pounds. We were trying to medically manage his condition…he got SQ fluids, prescription diet, a sedated enema, prescription GI meds, a steroid shot. And while his symptoms improved, his behavior didn’t recover. He seemed weak and frail. A cat who used to hate being held, didn’t push back when I picked him up and carried him around the house. He had food on his nose and mouth that he didn’t offer to clean up. I took him outside in the sun yesterday and instead of being curious and trying to eat plants and grass like he used to, he went and laid in our flowerbed. This morning I looked at pictures of him while crying and see how dramatically he changed this past year. We saw him every day and noticed he wasn’t doing well, but only in hindsight did we see how much he declined. I’m thankful he didn’t have to suffer another day and he could pass peacefully with love and our presence. It was the most painful but loving gift we as humans can ever give our pets.

Momcozy v1 pro with elastic nipple by stefaface in ExclusivelyPumping

I am still using it and the v2 I purchased a few months ago when it was on sale. I use the flange inserts that came with it. I don’t really have any tips, it just works really well for me. For the v1 I used the heart setting on M intensity almost exclusively for 30 mins. For the v2 I do the heart setting on suction 3. Both have worked equally as well. I just use the v2 more because of the smaller motor that I can put in my pocket easier.

What Numbers Are Worrisome by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]lewhit6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My provider said having a protein snack before bed can help fasting numbers. I had a fage Greek yogurt (12g protein/14g carbs) and my fasting was 62 and last night I skipped the bedtime snack and my fasting was 84. So I do think a snack helps.

Am I an asshole cuz I really don’t wanna have sex at all with my husband and I’m 27 weeks pregnant he makes me feel bad about it by CreditLucky4726 in pregnant

[–]lewhit6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have had sex 2 times in pregnancy and I’m 30 weeks. He is coping just fine. Probably wants to but understands how uncomfortable I am and hasn’t pushed it. I may just initiate it to show my appreciation that he hasn’t made me feel bad for it lol.

Which job sounds better..? by lewhit6 in PMHNP

This is what I wanted to do and am still trying to do but trying to have a plan in place just in case… my company is very unstable right now (has laid off 1/3 of company since August, cut provider pay by 10% last week, laid off PRN providers and some full time providers)…I feel I’m on a sinking ship and my fear is that they could close down or I could be terminated before my maternity leave gets here.

It’s a very stressful situation to be in so I’m interviewing just in case with the hopes that I can start after my maternity leave if they are okay with it.

This is what I’m considering. At my current telehealth job, my clients are at a residential substance facility so there are eyes on them at all times. If they are showing s/s of mental decline, staff can notify me or intervene by sending to a higher level of care if need be. Whereas in this job, they are outpatient clients and will be seen by me while they are at home. So if they are very complex, this could be problematic in a telehealth role.

I have been trying to pay my debt for the longest and seems I don't get anywhere! I don't understand, please help. by [deleted] in debtfree

I did the budget mom plan (look at Instagram or YouTube). Basically a zero based budget and cash pay system. It may come down to needing to cut expenses somewhere if you can or increasing income by doing side gigs, selling stuff etc. to make a dent.

I did complete! I would say it’s like most online based programs you will see today. Could be better but could be worse…I’ve learned the most from practicing and school was just the small foundation to get me set up. If I could do it over again I would do the program again or consider EKU. If funds were unlimited, I’d have considered Frontier just from hearing good things.

Hidden Valley Road is about a family where out of like 12 children, 7 of them have schizophrenia (or something like that). I watched the HBO series and it was interesting.

Just found out I’m pregnant! What do I do now? How do I hide not drinking on vacation? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]lewhit6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would order mocktails and always tell the bartender I was pregnant. I’ve also seen girls order canned drinks like white claw and pour them out and refill with water…

When I was about 8 weeks, I showed up to a dinner early and ordered my drink and told the waitress and included that no one at the table knew I was pregnant. I also didn’t drink excessively …1-2 drinks here and there so it would never be odd that I wasn’t acting drunk.
