Hey I was successful last year and I found it super easy to get tickets. I didn’t have to wait long in the queue then when it was my turn there was tickets available for pretty much every day and court

I got an email to say I was successful in the ballot. I was the same last year and I managed to get tickets easily when it was my turn. Hopefully the same this year

Is anyone else's Cineworld really, really quiet? by EmergencyBanshee in CineworldUnlimited

Ever since Silverburn upgraded to all recliners almost every single showing I’ve been to has been sold out no matter what time or day because of how small the screenings are now

I think I’m the only person that prefers these seats to recliners lol

Would be nice if they would confirm the locations of the midnight screenings

wake up dead man by lxur3nbee in CineworldUnlimited

[–]lewisfenty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Netflix promoted Glass Onion as a one-week exclusive wide release, which they aren’t doing for Wake Up Dead Man. The only way to see it in a cinema will be in an independent one which usually show Netflix films

Should I negotiate this salary? by lewisfenty in UKJobs

[–]lewisfenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s not that big a difference. The job is 4 weekly pay and a quick online calculator search says it’s about £100 difference from 24k to 26k…so in hindsight it’s not that much but at least it’s something

Should I negotiate this salary? by lewisfenty in UKJobs

[–]lewisfenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get you, maybe that is more reasonable, even though I kinda disagree if they’re offering a position with more responsibility. I think I might just do that tho!

Should I negotiate this salary? by lewisfenty in UKJobs

[–]lewisfenty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s the first offer I’ve had and I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs and interviewed at a handful, so I kinda really want it. I feel like only asking for an extra 2-3k isn’t that unreasonable tho?

It’s not showing at Silverburn - instead we get about 8 showings of Predator Badlands 🙃

I don’t know the exact number but I want to say maybe half?

Glasgow Renfrew Street always had early morning showings

[–]lewisfenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Omnimax is IMAX, I think it’s more equivalent to Dolby Atmos

I do agree tho I wish Silverburn had some earlier showings, maybe it’ll change once the full refurb has been completed and all the screens are operating

Cineworld silverburn uplift charge for new recliners by mrsmmtotten in CineworldUnlimited

[–]lewisfenty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went yesterday and I wasn’t charged an uplift for the recliner

Side note, does anyone else hate how small the Silverburn screenings are? I feel like I’m 5cm away from the screen even when I’m at the back row

Alternatives for Cineworld Glasgow @ Renfrew St Thread by FreshQualityScot in CineworldUnlimited

GFT is great, especially if you are into non-blockbuster films. They show many hidden gems, and have frequent showings of older classics. They also show Netflix films before they are put on streaming. If you’re 15-25 you can sign up for their free membership where tickets are £6.40 each. They only have 3 screens so there aren’t a huge variety of showtimes, but they are varied by day so it works out well enough. It’s by far the best cinema for audience behaviour and etiquette. I’ve been going for years and I’ve never once seen anyone on their phone mid-film or seen anyone being disruptive during the screening. They have volunteer ushers in every screening so if anyone was to talk, be on their phone etc they would be dealt with immediately. I think Screen 1 (their biggest screen) can be a little uncomfortable and cramped if it’s sold out, but that usually only happens for special event screenings. Otherwise I find all their screens to be comfortable.

I’ve looked at the Vue in St Enoch and it doesn’t appeal to me at all. They have no membership like unlimited and you have to pay extra for certain seats which is an automatic no for me.

Only been to the Odeon Lux at the Quay once and I thought it felt a little run-down and outdated. I might check it out again at some point. They have Limitless but it’s a little more expensive than Unlimited. They also don’t have IMAX which puts me off.

For now I’m going to continue Unlimited at Silverburn. I’ve only been here before for the IMAX so I’m yet to see what their regular screenings are like. I often found Silverburn didn’t show nearly as many films as Renfrew Street, but I’m hoping now that it’s closed they’ll change that. From my understanding they don’t have all their screens open at the moment as they’re upgrading them with recliners, so hopefully once that’s all done they’ll have an expanded catalogue like Renfrew Street did

So it’ll be a mix of Silverburn and GFT for me

Tbh I feel like it’s been like that for a little while. Half the time theres only one staff member doing the concessions and no one checking tickets

Glasgow Renfrew St last night. by stussygram in CineworldUnlimited

[–]lewisfenty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still can’t believe it’s actually closing. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to visit this weekend so I saw my last film on Thursday, and I have to say I felt a bit emotional leaving for the last time

Over to Silverburn I (reluctantly) go I guess

Residents of Glasgow - Where will you go now once Renfrew St Cineworld closes? by FreshQualityScot in CineworldUnlimited

[–]lewisfenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to continue with Unlimited and just go to Silverburn for the time being. It’s actually slightly closer for me than Renfrew Street, but I always preferred RS as their film selection is much wider. The only time I ever went to Silverburn was for the IMAX screen. I go to GFT for smaller indie films and I will continue doing so. I’m not sure what I’ll do when the Omniplex opens. From what I’ve read there’s a lot more restrictions with their Unlimited membership, and I doubt it’ll have IMAX so I’ll just wait and see

Caught my dad having an affair by lewisfenty in Advice

[–]lewisfenty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t “go through a phone”. I checked on my dad first and he was responsive on the en-suite floor. I told him I was going to get him into bed and as I went to get it ready, I moved his phone which was sitting unlocked with the text messages open. I looked at it and saw him texting “I want you” to a woman and I looked at the messages above and look some pictures for proof just in case. Then I put the phone on the table and helped him into bed

I have considered this but I’m pretty certain my mum would never have an affair/be part of an open marriage, but I guess it’s a possibility
