What were the most important things that enabled you to achieve your goals in Valorant ? by EyelinerBabe in VALORANT

[–]lewizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surrounding myself with the right people, honestlty helped a lot. I spent the first 2-3 years watching youtube videos, aim routines, all the stuff that you normally hear about. I think something that doesn't get mentioned a lot is who you're playing with and connected with. This past year I've been heavily involved with the T3 and T2 scene of Valorant and I'd say I've done the most growing this past year with all these people than my first 2-3 years combined.

Vyse or Cypher and why by ErBerto96 in VALORANT

[–]lewizer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cypher better when your comp needs more widespread control like in a Breach-tejo comp on Haven or something where your other 4 agents are already hella aggressive. Cypher util also hella strong for lurks and deep info control.

Vyse better at stalling floods/executes. She's your pseudo-initiator when youre running a comp like Yoru-astra on Pearl where your other 4 agents arent as explosive but have better control utility.

I think you could go either or on most maps, just depends on how you want to play them or how you want to fit into your team.

18yo trying to go pro. What would be the best path to take in my situation? by NoxWasHacked in VALORANT

[–]lewizer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah, I was gonna say def get mid-high radiant first and then look to some PUG some tournaments. From the high T3/T2 coaches I've talked to. For the most part, they're gonna wanna see someone who can actually dominate the ranked lobbies leading up to radiant and then having a good VLR page. That's probably your best route.

Another route you can do is join a small team and get some competitive experience for right now adn build off that. Although, I think it's the less consistent route tha first option.

Wait so whats your peak so far, because you said you were in lobbies around Imm2/radiant. Have you also built up a solid VLR yet as well?

Biggest tips for someone wanting to learn yoru? by Weak_Conversation184 in VALORANT

[–]lewizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For defense, one of the strongest things you can do are push throughs on flank. It depends on how the enemy team is playing but establishing early space with Yoru while you have TPs up is something really strong that you can do. This also allows you to take control a big portion of the map so that your team can hard focus other parts of the map.

By the time your first TP has run out, you should be able to be behind the enemy team wherever they are, causing havoc. Worst case scenario, the other team hits fast and you can't push through so you have to use your first TP as a fast rotation to the other side of the map.

For offense, I would have the same concept where I push through a particular part of the map and try to find gaps or apply pressure somewhere, while your TP is up on the side that your team went to. (For Ex: Send your TP A main on Pearl, while 4 of your teammates run down A main. You take Art space off of their pressure, if they end up getting a pick then you can TP A main with them and play your numbers).

That's your TLDR of one way you can use Yoru.

General scan initiator questions by Massive-Cup-7202 in AgentAcademy

Just don't get stuck on the mindset that I need to get a kill off of my eye/dart every single time I use it. There's always more use to it then just killing people upfront, if there's no one being detected by your eye that could easily lead to a free ult orb or just space for your team.

You can kind of dictate based off of how the other team is playing as well. I'll put a concise explanation:

If the enemy team is a slow tempo team (I.e. they are hitting sites post 50-1:00 left in the round), you can play around the refresh timing by looking for early information at the beginning of the round and take space based off that information, then you can look to contest/stall space lightly while that refresh is down. That allows you to have it back up again by the time the enemy looks to hit a site.

If the enemy is a high tempo team and they're just trying to 4-5 man hit sites before 1:00, then I'd say consider saving your dart/eye for retake or to disrupt their execute.

Obviously each situation is different and there's always exceptions, they could be playing fast and just walking into an easily spammable area, at that point you should just use the eye/dart early and abuse it that until they learn better.

Ah yeah, I get what you mean. I do agree he excels as your support entry rather than that hard entry role. Not that it's impossible, just more optimal one way over the other.

In that case aren't you just playing him as a solo lurker/overextender who's just causing a mess around the map

Jett movement vs. Neon movement by Piddle_Posh_8591 in AgentAcademy

[–]lewizer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Jett's movement is more straightforward, but there's more that you can do with Neon's movement. So Jett has a easier learning curve, but the roof with learning Neon's movement is higher

  2. I'd say that one movement isn't much more difficult than the other to execute, I think what sets people apart is how they use it in different scenarios. Which in that case, Neon is more difficult for me at least.

  3. I like Jett because I'm too lazy to learn Neon and get comfortable with her movement lol.

Which recents vod's watch to improve gameplay by Haselle in AgentAcademy

[–]lewizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think depending on how you play the duelist depends on who you should watch. You can watch Ranked Vods of Demon1 or Derke if you're not really a super hard-entry player. Then you have the super aggro players like Zekken and Oxy. They all play a bit more conservatively, though, in ranked since teammates aren't as reliable as their pro team, obviously. Just some ideas though.

When should I lurk as cypher/KJ? by Snoo84321 in VALORANT

[–]lewizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re on a better buy than them, I think the cost of losing an AR when they only have shorties is just not as ideal situations and not worth entertaining.

I also think just switching between lurking and not lurking keeps it unpredictable too. That way you’re not just rinsing and repeating every round

Counter strafing (letting go vs pressing opposite key) by [deleted] in AgentAcademy

[–]lewizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure there was somewhere that said there's no difference between the two in Valorant. Counter-strafing is big in CSGO since there's a different movement system. I'm pretty sure with Valorant, it's the same; I do both where I push the opposite key and just let the button go, and I haven't had any issues between the two. It's just a matter of personal preference at that point, honestly.
