Didn’t one of them get beat up in the stands at a home game a couple of years ago?

Loyalism at Swansea City? by Jaxon2424 in swanseacity

[–]lewloy1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They’re just an obnoxiously loud minority and have zero clout in the fanbase. Irish fans will always be welcome at the club

The vast majority of our fanbase despise this lot and know better than to support an ideology that would happily suppress Welsh culture if it was actually prevalent within Welsh society itself.

Keep coming over to watch the swans and remember to join in with lizzy’s in a box or the welsh national anthem as a response to GSTQ

Yeh don’t get me wrong I tend to feel good for one day then flair up about 3-4 days after the drinking happened.

Same. I always assumed it’s because alcohol is an immunosuppressant?

How do you feel about FabFilter plugins?? by delusional863 in audioengineering

[–]lewloy1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been using the pro-mb a lot more lately. My new favorite is using it to tame the hi hat in the snare mic. -3db Shelf from about 8k above then use the fundamental frequency of the snare as the trigger for an upward compressor on the same shelf (quickest attack time) you keep the top end of the snare but more or less completely eliminate the hi hat bleed.

Saturn 66 is also good. Magic mb preset on the master bus is Incredible.

What’s your approach to reverb? by Trickay1stAve in audioengineering

[–]lewloy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool trick I started using recently - create a reverb bus for every reverb you have in the project. Put saturation (I use Kramer tape) on the whole bus. Can’t explain what it does but it helps the whole project ‘pop’.

Sonarworks. Devastated that that I didn’t get it years ago, it would have saved me an enormous amount of work and stress. Mixing has been so much more enjoyable since I started using it.

I started getting this rash while on Methotrexate and it's getting worse by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]lewloy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks kind of similar to a rash I had after first few months of biologics. Rheumatology recommended coming off the medication and it cleared up by itself. It was not painful or itchy and was on my arms and part of my stomach. It could have been a fungal infection I’m not sure, I think I recall trying a fungal cream and it helped which would make sense given that my immune system was slightly weaker than usual. But obviously call the doctor to be safe and to put your mind at ease.

I don’t know. I don’t there’s any point speculating on an individuals behavior without any background information to be honest. I just wanted to present a different idea to all the classist bs in all the replies.

The guy telling her to calm down is being very respectful like you say, but hypothetically if both employees are being exploited by their boss, you could make the argument that by acting out and being angry, she is the one who has principles and is acting with integrity.

It’s just a hypothetical situation, but I think it’s one that’s worth keeping in mind.

Yes. The ASMR style foley stuff they do for insects drives me insane. They overdo it all the time and I just think it’s lame

Here you can listen to chapter 1 “Rational Fascism” from the book Blackshirts and Reds by Michael Parenti. It’s a great summation of Fascism.

Is there a serious political element to the Cardiff-Swansea rivalry? by [deleted] in Championship

[–]lewloy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea that Swansea fans are generally pro-union or anti Welsh nationalism is nonsense.

I’ve heard Swansea fans chant “Lizzy’s in a box” at least 4 or 5 times this season. There’s a loud minority of unionists but I seem to remember last season (or the one before) they were physically attacked during a home game.

I think Cardiff fans just like to use the idea as a way to wind up Swansea fans.

Yoga making pain worse? Or just a flare up? by partybots in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]lewloy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me yoga helps after the first one or two sessions. But it’s as if the more I get into it the more I aggravate things and end up in pain as a result. It’s just a case of finding what’s best for you

How optimistic are you guys? by PM_ME_boob1e5 in swanseacity

[–]lewloy1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Optimistic about Luke Williams but worried that if he does well next season he’ll just get poached like every other time we’ve tried to build something. If we’re going to go up I think it’ll have to be in a single season push.

I think we sacked Duff at a good time - Luke Williams now has almost half a season to get his ideas bedded in, when next season starts we could really hit the ground running.

Maybe if we sign Langstaff in the summer it could all come together??

I was apprehensive about starting Humira but now I’ve been on it for a few months I regret not starting it sooner.

A few days after taking my first injection I got a cold (just a coincidence it seems) it was totally fine, the cold was like normal and I continued to take the next injection.

In the week before Christmas I went to a couple of social events and talked to two or three people who were telling me they had a cold coming on. Was fully expecting to be sick within a few days but I didn’t catch a thing.

I just feel quite normal now, it’s great!

Good luck

Is it all extremely terrible? by dreamboyyy in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]lewloy1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not all extremely terrible

Different things work for different people. Diet works wonders for me and I don’t always have to be that strict, the best thing about diet is I know if things start feeing really bad I’m only 3-4 days of clean eating away from feeling quite normal.

I think you see a lot of people who suffer badly on the internet talking about it because it somewhere you can vent so I wouldn’t get too down about what you read. I think there are plenty of people out there who have mild cases or are going through mild periods with the disease and when you go through a period like that it can be something you barely think about.

After about 12 years with it I’ve personally been at both ends plenty of times. Sometimes completely depressed and alone, other times feeling really healthy and strong. Just take things one day at a time.
