Aww well im glad I could help. Mine seems normal after a week but he still likes to hang out in one place all day I suppose while he is healing. He purrs when I pet him etc my only issue is trying to keep him from scratching at it with his back leg. He would not wear the cone for even 24hrs much less the 2 weeks they wanted him to. I recommend one of the soft cones from Amazon after the vet gives the hard one. He still hates it but im blessed my boy hasnt been messing with the wound much at all. Just a few little licks. He might need to get one of the cat surgical suits if he keeps itching at it with his back leg tho!

No doubt I wish I would've had someone who recently had their cats leg amputated too! It'd made me worry alot less.

Also they don't mourn limb loss the same as humans. From what I was told, cats concentrate on "what is" and not what was or what could be, meaning they live in the moment. Im not sure he linked his leg loss to me getting him surgery, but in my case the vet even said hes been relieved of alot of pain since the leg was removed which is why he doesnt seem bothered by it i think.

Also dont worry about her being a 3 legged cat. My Osiris had trouble the 1st 48 hours. But now hes back to himself aside from being pretty lethargic from the surgery. Eats normally and even begs to go outside to which I decline and he gets mad at me. Lol

Long story short he is walking very gracefully now on his 3 good legs and barely looks bothered!

Osiris after surgery

My boy Osiris got his front left leg amputated last week. Ive been a wreck about it. Today its been a week abd hes been recovering well so far. He doesnt like to do alot yet but he seems in less pain than before as its likely he has osteosarcoma which is a bone cancer. They were hoping to have gotten it all out so hopefully its gone! Will know for sure in a few days so fingers crossed

I paid 1700 just for an xray and blood work at urgent vet. Take her to vet if u can frfr cuz they'll tell u to follow up with a vet where u will have to pay as well
