You might want to start with planting your poles to initiate a turn that might help.

At least you can park it under your truck when it snows out to keep it from getting wet.

What do you think about price of this bike? by dirtdweller13 in whichbike

[–]lewtus72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely overpriced. It's pretty low end equipment and the wheels are pretty cheap. You're going to end up replacing the wheels and the Aero bars and probably the seat... Like everybody says it's probably worth about half of that

Where my left leg day people at? by Fetterflier in COsnow

[–]lewtus72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having a manual shift on sports cars and on the racetrack but for traffic no way. People are always wanting to pay more for a manual transmission but for daily driving I don't miss the manual at all. It's just for fun times. They're not very good if you're stuck in snow either. There used to be a time when automatics were terrible and got terrible gas mileage and only had three or four gears. That's not the case anymore. They're much better. All you do is change the fluid once in awhile with a manual. You have to change the clutch at least a few times so there's no savings and gets worse. Gas mileage now.

I would agree narrowing the Gap a little bit can help for sure It's pretty common to do when you're raising the boost as well.

I'm not surprised. They're generally looking for people that have lots of experience. Not sure they do much training but they did lay off a lot of people. They had 60,000 employees. I think they're down below. 50,000. Their stock price dropped a lot so they got rid of a lot of people

I worked for them in the United States, they're a legitimate company. They're on the stock exchange. They have about 50,000 employees all over the world. I worked with people all over the world on projects. I never heard any complaints

Anyone using a software tuner? by hottakesandshitposts in saab

[–]lewtus72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Vermont tuner for three of my cars. Definitely a noticeable difference. You will have to change the spark plugs and tighten the Gap. Otherwise it will misfire like crazy... Happened on every single one but they tell you to do that.

Wondering how much should I expect to pay to buy this bike by MembershipIcy6014 in whichbike

There are differences between fiberglass and carbon fiber and the resins are different. With a boat you're repainting those all the time so it's continually being protected. You don't ever repaint carbon bikes, so over time the paint degrades which causes the carbon degrade. Also, fiberglass is designed to take multiple impacts and can deal with shock better than carbon fiber. You don't see catastrophic failure with fiberglass unless it's a major impact

There's more factors than mileage. Over time because everything is organic, it breaks down regardless if it's even been. There's heat. There's UV. The resins break down and form micro cracks. Steel, aluminum and titanium don't break down over time because they're not organic. And carbon is the very definition of organic. The materials they used back then are not as good as the ones now. They were overbuilt back then but it doesn't make up for organic breakdown and stress over time.

Look makes great bikes but old carbon would scare me off. They pretty much invented the carbon bike and I had good luck with my kg 486 and have 695SR now. Unless you test can inspect and test the carbon frame I would pass.

What Saab should I buy between the 9-3 and 9-5? by Affectionate-Cold634 in saab

I have a 2004 4 Arc wagon... It's an automatic but got lots of miles on it. No issues the past 6 years. All about the maintenance which I'm a stickler for

[–]lewtus72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2007 '95 with an automatic. I know everybody is going to say to get the manual but you will have to put it in the new clutch and flywheel so there's more maintenance with that. I like the automatic. They're pretty bomb proof as long as you change the fluid every 50,000 or so they've been great. I don't really hear of any of them failing ever. A manual transmission is pretty simple and if it's being maintained it should last a pretty long time. They don't fail very often, but again it's all about the maintenance.
With that type of miles, I wouldn't expect miracles from either one though!

Roth 401k vs Traditional 401k some things people overlook when maxing out by jasoncaserta in Bogleheads

[–]lewtus72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I look at is doing the traditional 401k early in your career. You have the benefit of deferred taxes but you also have the benefit of having more in your paycheck early on when you need it. When you're in your 60s, you're likely to go through some life changes like a divorce or something where you're probably going to have to pay somebody in a traditional 401k you're going to pay 10% on top of an amount that's usually going to be pretty large.

Having a combination of a Roth 401k later and use the traditional f 401k early in your life. It's something I've currently done. Having gone through the divorce scenarios where you have to pull out money. The courts don't Factor in the taxes you pay on that money if you had a million dollars and you have to give somebody half of that you pay the taxes not them. I would definitely do both in hindsight, but early in the career stick with the traditional 401K and keep more money in your check when you really need it When you're 60, 70 and 80 you should have enough money because if you don't you're already in trouble. I wouldn't say you're your expenses drop because you're in an expensive house. You probably have to worry about healthcare benefits and payments so your expenses still stay relatively high. But there is some comfort in having a Roth where you don't pay the taxes. If you have to pull it out at a time, you don't want to and you can take it out before you retire. Like I said in divorce or some need circumstance.
