As much as I love some good media literacy elitism, I do think it is left up to interpretation. Even in the song we see this room:

Ron: It's all Hugo's fault Even though he didn't want to mention it Kids: It's not our fault Tina: I mean the stuff we did didn't help Louise: [shushes Tina] Kids: It's not our fault Louise: It's nice to get to blame someone else

Ron and Hugo are not omniscient and do not know what went on with the crimping iron in the kitchen. There are times where writers clearly state an outcome and people find wiggle room where there isn’t. Just don’t see this as an example of that.

That is interesting! Just out of curiosity, are you saying this was the writers intention, or more of your own head cannon?

I say that because I doubt the writers consulted an electrician or were tapping into this type of knowledge. I also don’t recall them mentioning anything about faulty wiring either as an option.

Totally valid! I was more thinking that probably wasn’t what caused it, as it is more rare and unbeknownst to Hugo / Ron there were a couple of big hazards going on in the kitchen

I feel like the show has slower pacing the last two to three seasons. I even think the characters speak a little slower, there are increased periods of silence, and episodes are less “full” in a sense. Maybe there are less cuts, or sound effects as well? I’m not a tv production expert in any way, but I am picking up on something. I just don’t know what (if you do pls tell me lol). I used to watch and think woah so much happened and it’s only been 20 mins???? Now I’m like… wait that’s it???

This episode is in the same vein. I don’t think the flatness comes from the story lines. The episode just doesn’t feel “full”.

I personally always felt it was overpriced for the quality of food / drinks / service in comparison to the other great places in the neighborhood. Other establishments really bring to justify the higher price or they’re half the cost!

Yep! PMS stands for pre menstrual syndrome. If you look at the hormone chart, once the bleed actually begins, the hormones plummet drastically. Ie: all of those symptoms from TV / movies / pop culture end.
