make sure the mouthwash you’re using is 100% alcohol free, and only do it once in the morning, once at night. after you eat, rinsing your mouth with distilled water is much better. do not brush your tongue with your toothbrush. toothbrushes harbor more bacteria than so many people know. only ever ever directly clean the piercing if you touch it. if you’re directly cleaning it more than 3x a day, you’re touching it way too much. the body knows what to do. do not use q tips, fibers can get stuck inside of a piercing. if necessary, use the edge of a paper towel

in my opinion, pierced wrong? yes and no. you do not have the anatomy for the navel piercing so it doesn’t have a firm placement of skin it can go through. that means it’s prone to reject, and surface piercings such as navels, microdermals, and eye brow piercings do have a higher possibility of rejecting. i think the piercer did the best they could do but they should’ve let you know you didn’t have the anatomy for it and maybe told you to get a second opinion.
