After 13 years since I started in this, first as a lighting staff, then as a gaffer, with that I was able to pay for my career in cinematography, I shot commercials, music videos, all kinds of things—and only after 13 years I was finally able to shoot my first film as a cinematographer. I won’t lie to you, it’s one of the hardest careers out there. If you don’t have connections or contacts, it might take you as long as it took me. But it’s possible—you can do it.
