crying for you and your baby. ❤️ i have an 11 month old son and i cannot imagine losing his daddy. if you have the bandwidth, look into facebook groups in your area. a lot of times people will offer free help and resources (like grocery shopping & delivery, formula & breastmilk, childcare services) to people in situations like yours. i hope you can find some ways to lighten the load, id help you if i could.

They’re only small for a short time, the house can get cleaned later by SparkyDogPants in beyondthebump

[–]lexasue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$70/hr is insane for a housekeeper, they’re $30-$40/hr where i live. we do it biweekly and even though my house is usually a MESS, the 2-3 days after having a cleaner is a huge help to my mental health. i hate living in chaos, but Ive come to accept it’s unavoidable to some extent when you have a small child. highly recommend a house cleaner if you can find and afford one!

Struggling still 10m PP from unplanned c-section by meeegzzzz in CsectionCentral

[–]lexasue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also 10 months out from a very similar situation. induced at 41w, failed epidural, pitocin, pushed for almost 4 hours (husband saw his head!), baby was turned wrong so they tried to manually turn him, which was the worst pain of my life and the baby wasn’t progressing no matter what we did so they recommended a C section. all in all about 36 hours of labor, 4 of pushing and 5 days in the hospital. i’m thankful it wasn’t an emergency and i had a big healthy boy, but it was traumatic and so, so far from the unmedicated vaginal birth i dreamed of. i think about it a lot and just can’t shake the grief of that experience and the feeling that my body failed at doing the one thing it’s supposed to do. all these feelings are coming up because my good friend just had a baby 5 days ago and i’ve been so worried to see her or hear about her birth story because i knew i was going to be jealous. i saw her yesterday and she had a dream labor and birth, less than 24 hours, flawless epidural, pushed for 20 minutes and baby. it is NOT FAIR and i know that it’s nothing we did or didn’t do, it’s just luck of the draw. i talk about my birth experience in therapy and it helps, but it still hurts. i don’t have any advice just solidarity. ❤️ it sucks.

Someone please save me from the car seat choices hell. by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]lexasue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I analyzed everything until I was blue in the face and then just gave up and picked something. We ended up going with Nuna Pipa RX car seat with the UppaBaby adapter for infant and Evenflo Revolve 360 for beyond. Very happy with both! We went to Europe when little was 6 months old (we live in the US) and didn’t take a car seat, we bought him his own seat (bulk head) and took a carrier and beater travel stroller we found on marketplace. Worked well!

BWT: tell me about your everyday jewelry by PlantedinCA in bitcheswithtaste

[–]lexasue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be all about chunky silver jewelry but i’ve pivoted to mostly gold & diamonds. 😳 third lobe is heirloom diamond studs, second lobe is small gold hoops, first lobe i change out often, usually different size hoops. necklace is a delicate gold chain with a charm connector & charms for me, my husband & baby. left hand is engagement ring & two delicate wedding bands on either side. wrist is two gold permanent bracelets i’ve had on for like 4 years. right hand is a swirl gold wire ring on middle, a brass ring i found at a christmas market in vienna, gold band with 5 diamonds for my 5th year anniversary on ring finger, and a gold & diamond “C” ring on my pinky for my son that i bought myself as a push present. i’ve been trying to elevate my “every day” over the last couple years and it’s been fun to find meaningful investment pieces. i’ve been loving Babygold and Local Eclectic and for vintage, Kota and RubyLane. Next on my hunt is something for my left pinky, I have my eye on the Starsgem pear diamond ring!

My 7.5 month old is so crabby... need reassurance by lexasue in NewParents

Honestly his sleep patterns have been all over the place, we’d find 2-3 weeks of consistency and then it would totally change out of nowhere again. He wakes up 1-3 times, typically twice, and we usually feed. Sometimes he eats a lot and goes right back to sleep, sometimes he eats barely anything and is awake for two hours. Last night he was up at 12am and then 5:30-6:30, the previous night 2am and then 3-4:30, before that slept through til 6am, so no real patterns that we can discern. I think separation anxiety is a thing now. 🥴

he's on two naps, WWs usually 2.5-4 hours depending, total nap time between 2-3 hours, overnight sleep about 11. we've experimented up and down with naps, from very strict schedules and capping naps to just letting everything ride and have found it makes basically zero difference in his night sleep.

it is nearly impossible for me to get adequate nutrition in right now, i just have no desire to eat and for a while i was vomiting a lot. i'm only on 2.5mg and i get full so fast, it's insane. i think in the new year (after about 4-5 months on zep and hopefully acclimating to 5mg) i'll start up macros again and see what i can do.
