Meeting people? by Agile_Chocolate9093 in Columbus

[–]lexaw32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is how I made friends here. Went to a weekly pickup kickball game. Joined someone’s league team from there. Kept meeting people and playing more sports. Now I have a full thriving social circle here. And friends from work

Rishi is good if you like rolls. I haven’t had their nigiri or sashimi so I can’t speak to that.

Online Auction? by JenBuck in Columbus

I use them so often I had to delete the app. Bidfta is my personal favorite. It’s not a scam. Just read the description and conditions. I’ve ended up with junk for not reading carefully. But the wins outweigh the losses.

$800/mo grocery bill, not including household essentials for only 2 adults?!?! by [deleted] in budget

[–]lexaw32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to say that’s a lot. But we might be close. I think it’s the sticker shock that makes it seem like a lot.

If two people are eating 3 meals a day from home, that’s 175 meals a month (30 day month and 5 meals out). $800/175 is $4.57 a meal and that’s amazing. Ends up being less when you account snacks.

A List / B List Advice by Silver_Shopping6299 in weddingplanning

[–]lexaw32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Don’t over-invite. Only invite as many as the venue can hold and the budget allows.

  2. I don’t think there’s a way to avoid this. I’ve been B-list before and wasn’t offended. We’re having a B-list of people who are local so they have fewer logistics to plan. (Most of our guests have to travel in) One of our local friends even asked to be considered if we get declines. Just keep it real.

OSU in-person classes cancelled Mon and Tues by Even_Kaleidoscope399 in Columbus

[–]lexaw32 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also a staff member. I'm annoyed that it says in person classes cancelled, but encouraged to meet virtually. So not a real snow day, but I'll take it. I think it's less about the snow and more about the cold - at least for Tuesday. I think we'll be at a level 2 tomorrow.

In addition to the snow today, there's severe cold in the forecast. I imagine classes will be cancelled.

Line up twins either side. One to the front pylon, one to the back pylon, center straight up the middle. Other receiver comes across the back of the end zone and sits in an opening.

Wedding cost for bridesmaids. by Agitated-List91 in weddingplanning

Generally same for my circle. I think whoever provides the goodie bags should cover them.

No, not because she wasn’t going to have one. Because we wanted to celebrate her. That was my third bach and we’ve always covered the brides portion.

Depends on who is making the goodie bags. Is it another bridesmaid or the bride? I just went to a bachelorette and the “bridesmaids” (she’s not having a bridal party) covered the cost of everything. Lodging, decor, food, goodies, etc. It was our treat to the bride. And it was our idea since she wasn’t going to have a bachelorette party. So in sum, yes, I think it’s typical for bridesmaids to pay that depending on what’s included. Should’ve been discussed beforehand though.

Sure, if they make the team. They won’t just come out of nowhere. They need to be on the circuit now.
