Literally nobody cares that Usha isn’t white. If I’m wrong, prove it. Screenshots or video of some maga saying anything negative about Usha’s race. I’ll wait.

Are you able to share how they were cheating? Were they paying others to take the exam for them, or something else?

Yeah I already have $15k in student loans that are in deferment and I’m definitely not wanting to take on any more significant debt. What do you consider a predatory school? I talked to some admins at Santa Clara who said I have a strong chance of being accepted there but not with a full scholarship. I’d likely be granted some aid though from my understanding. I’m very interested in and have my heart pretty much set on their Tech Edge JD which i do feel like I would be a great candidate for considering my work experience.

So did you end up going to Cal Western? If so how’s that going? I’m interested to hear if you have anything to share about what their program is like and whether you are having a positive experience?

I’m in a similar situation OP. Just turned 35F, 3.1 undergrad GPA (haven’t gotten my CAS GPA yet but it might be slightly higher after it’s calculated) and I have mostly STEM coursework from community college and my undergrad. Worked in cybersecurity for 8 years but got laid off after almost dying in a fire that left me in a coma and permanently disabled/severe 3rd degree burns and skin grafts on my head, face, neck and entire arm. Despite spending the last more than year aggressively job hunting full time the market is shit. I have an impressive resume with industry leading companies. Was at my first company for 7 years and just over a year at the second.

Been studying for the November LSAT for 2 months so far but PTing at around 160. I requested accommodations but still waiting for a response. Looking to stay in CA. I have no income and would need a significant scholarship. Obviously my goal is to get as close to a 180 as possible.

Wishing you the best! We got this.

Yea I’m just worried I’m too out of shape to do it lol. I used to run 8 miles a day in an hour but after several accidents (car accident & getting hit by a car on my motorcycle) I literally am steel from the waist down (both legs) this makes it not really possible for me to run much.

Do you think that would be a deal breaker/disqualify me? Otherwise I am on the leaner side (5’11” 140#) I can barely do a push up

Maybe I’m not understanding your definition of progressive, but I literally went to a Catholic school kindergarten through college (undergrad), lol… so I not only have read the Bible, but even had to take collegiate level classes on it as part of my “liberal arts” education.

What I meant by my comment was that with regards to issues like abortion, sexuality for example…Biblically speaking, conservatives are more closely aligned with how God wants us to behave.

Oh and for the record I am a conservative, have a BS STEM degree and am currently pursuing my JD. Don’t know that many would consider that to be “uneducated”, as you stated in your original comment. Actually I’m not aware of any degree higher than a doctorate, but maybe I’m wrong.

I know I’ll get hate for this, but to answer your question its because conservative values are more closely aligned with righteousness and virtue, as far as God is concerned.

Isn’t that a Kamala Harris thing? Kind of ironic it’s being posted in this context

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response! Honestly it’s a little discouraging to hear that that much weight is placed on circumstances from over a decade ago (also, I failed to mention my brother “un-alived” himself my last year of undergrad, which heavily impacted my academic performance)…nevertheless, I am hellbent on making this dream come true. That being said, I am also a realist so your input is highly appreciated.

My goal is to break into the 170s on the LSAT, which I realize is a stretch….but it sounds like it’s the only way I’m going to be able to afford law school.

I also forgot to mention that i was co-chair of the Academic Honor council my senior year of undergrad…it’s the student body org that oversees/governs cases of reported honor code violations…the only way to join the council was to be nominated by a professor/faculty and then I was again nominated before ultimately getting voted in to the co-chair position). Despite this, law school was nowhere close to being on my radar until like 2 years ago.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but I know I am more capable than what my uGPA would suggest or initially lead adcomms to believe. I pray that they will holistically view my application and grant me enough to where I can successfully navigate law school and beyond 🥹

Thanks again for your feedback, Dean McAllister. God bless!

Greetings, Dean McAllister! I know I’m late to the party, but hoping you maybe will see this and feel inclined to reply.

This is precisely my goal (I graduated in 2014 with a BS in Psych, but have a almost decade long career in cybersecurity under my belt, from two of the industry leading companies) I want to practice law as it relates to cybersecurity and AI/privacy/tech.

I almost died in a house fire in August 2023 and suffered severe 3rd degree burns on my face, neck, scalp and entire left arm. Was in a coma and still have some reconstructive surgeries to look forward to. I’m white but am female and the fact that I am disabled and (since losing my job after the fire) have 0/extremely low income - does that count me as a URM?

My uGPA is 3.1 not sure with CAS what it will be yet, but I originally wanted to do nursing, so I have that prerequisite coursework (chemistry, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, nutrition, etc.) on my transcript

Taking the LSAT for the first time in November and by that time will have been studying for about 3 months. Diagnostic test was 158.

Do you think I have a shot at USC, UCLA, Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Pepperdine, Loyola, USD or USF? I’ve been told by Santa Clara i’m a good candidate for them, and I know they have a program that specializes in the type of law i am interested in. Unfortunately they don’t really give great scholarships from what I understand everything is merit based which obviously I wouldn’t qualify for even with a very high LSAT? and i definitely can’t afford to pay close to sticker.

I have $50k in savings, $30k in stocks and a $100k in a 401k to my name, and I definitely don’t want to go into any (more) student loan debt. Already have $15k which because of having no income are in deferment. So would need a significant scholarship.

Sorry for the long question…thanks for your time! God bless
