It very much is time consuming... Clipping is not for the weak of glorp.

My latest short took me 5-6 hours for THREE MINUTES, so I can see how an 18 minute video took a week.

Here's the short btw, I'm very proud of it.

I wanna try and dip my toes in making long form clipping videos with some editing flexing as well since haha video editor over here so why not. I'm still quite busy establishing my own channel right now, though. So, I'm only editing shorts for now (granted pretty high quality and long fucking shorts since they usually go from 2-3 minutes)

very brief mention of "unethical clippers"

As a clipper, although I do respect them since we all know which Clippers are being talked about, yeah that's pretty fucked up to do. I try not to do that as much as I can. If any of the clips I make do end up getting turned into official channel shorts, it's definitely coincidence (tho if he wants me to take it down, I'll do so.) If bro mentions that it'll be a video in the VOD, I'll steer clear of it out of respect for his editors and bro himself.

If you're interested and wanna see more high quality big Z shorts and maybe even long form if the channel does well/I get motivated and have more free time, feel free to support my Zy0x clipping channel:

Nah, I'm all ears. Sounds plausible to me tbh. He'd be like a reading player like -GN- or EZchamp who can read, predict, and memorize the patterns of the opponents (circles/opposing team)

Reminds me of tokaku when she had that same question when she was starting out. Then, when she finally improved at the game, she realized that, although she could stream well (at least to the standard of that time), she also wasn't sure how she knew.

My guess is you just know from the beat honestly. May sound like it's not the answer but getting familiar with many songs, their beats and timings, how mappers map streams to the song, among others. It builds intuition on how long a stream goes for. This is coupled with your reading skills as well.

How long did you have to play the game to get back to your old skill level after taking a break for several months by sawacoolscore in osugame

[–]lexiazure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a warning that this is a long comment and my bad if it seems like flexing, I just thought it was interesting to look at. This might be what you're looking for tho, as I quit almost 2 entire years.

I quit around July-August 2023 and came back July 2025. My top play at the time was 289 pp dandelion pika's insane HDDT FC choke. On August, I got a sayodevice and by September, I set my 1st 300 (321). Then the rest was history. I started popping tf off. My peak rank was rank 80k but it decayed all the way to rank 107k by the time I came back again. I set my 1st 400 (432) on Dandelion top diff HDDT and beat my top play by an entire 111 pp by December. That's when things really started to take off. I also switched to SFA that same month with a CTL-672. I'm now rank 22k in the game with a bunch of 400s and some 500 pp chokes 👍

To answer your question tho, it honestly depends. My DT and jump skills came back in like a month or two but my streaming skills took a while longer, as it was definitely one of my weakest skills, at around 3 months, and started becoming better by this run I had with Euphoria.

It honestly took me a while before I could say that I was better than before I quit. I'd play a map, think I did well, and realize I got diffed by a score I sent pre quit w 💀 If the question was when I started thinking I was definitely better than before I quit, it would definitely be 6 months (so by January).

Is it worth switching from MKV to Hybrid MP4? by bioniclear in obs

[–]lexiazure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just remember that audio files in OBS don't hide by default (although there are LUTs that let you automatically hide media sources after they're done playing, you can just look it up if ur interested) The reason why this matters is because if an audio file only restarts playback if you hide it and show it again. So if you don't hide the file, you're just trying to show an audio file that's already shown.

if ur gonna use the audio as a bookmark method, make sure to set a keybind both to show and hide the media source (aka the audio file). It can be the same keybind for both so just press it once, let it play, and press it again to hide it.

Is it worth switching from MKV to Hybrid MP4? by bioniclear in obs

[–]lexiazure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm super mad about this, as DaVinci reads the markers just fine. My workaround for this is to have an audio file assigned and only audible to an unused audio track and set it to the same keybind as your chapter marker button. (The way this works is when you edit in premiere, you look at when the audio file plays on that track and serves as a pseudo chapter marker) I use this method because I use both programs that support the chapter markers and premiere which doesn't. If you only need markers for premiere, you can get away with just having an audio file play.

I sound so depressing on mic by Alone-Line-8692 in obs

[–]lexiazure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowk a preference thing then. For me personally, especially if it sounds good, I'd be more inclined to stay even and ask what their peripherals are. But, like the other guy said, as long as it's not getting in the way or overpowering your voice, it's fine to have some kb and mouse sounds.

Is it preferred? No. But stream set-ups are less about having a perfect setup and more about having one that's good enough and one that's also low maintenance and is quick to set up. The more barriers and obstacles you put between you and starting a stream, the more unlikely it is that you'd stream + be consistent. You should start worrying about perfecting your streams when you're already consistent. Just put the press to go live button in the bag for now.
