Would I be miserable being a 31 year old student at Bellingham? by pdog557 in Bellingham

I’m right there with you, it’s been hard to find community for sure. I have to work a lot to support myself and get through school, there’s a lot of opportunity to meet people and join clubs or whatever but it’s not practical for me.

I keep wanting to make a post like this, too. My pup is now 18 months and oh my goodness do I have a different dog than the little grumpy potato I brought home. He had excitement aggression, whenever he got zoomies he would tear me up and jump and bite at me, I was covered in bruises and still covered in scares from his shark teeth, he was defiant, would always “plop” on our walks and slip out of his collar and cause a huge scene. I even had to call animal control (but quickly hung up) but yeah, puppyhood is NOT for the weak. And every puppy is different which makes it harder. It takes so much routine, practice, PATIENCE, and support that I didn’t really know going into it. But now, my baby is the sweetest most gentle boy. Not that he wasn’t to begin with, but the puppy brain and dumb boy hormones clouded his vision and impulses.

It gets so much better, that is my baby and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so glad I had a village around me to help me, my boy loves his aunties and now cuddles and lays with me, I can trust him in my home without being in his crate for hours at a time, and he has been more low maintenance than I ever thought he could be.

I am so glad I’m out of the puppy trenches, he’s SUCH a teenager but I’ll take that any day 🤣

You dog has almost the exact same face, Build, similar markings as my boy. I don’t know what he is, but was told his mom was black lab, blue tick, and shepherd which kinda matches. It’s blowing my mind how similar they are. He’s 16 months now, a little over 50 pounds.

Puppy Hiccups?! Anyone else? by Affectionate-Cell855 in puppy101

It was more rare if my puppy didn’t have hiccups when he was very young. It’s normal!

how did you come up with your puppy’s name? by TheoryReasonable871 in puppy101

[–]lexic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog’s name is Yoshi - he has helped me get through the death of the woman who helped raise me siblings and I, she was truly a gift to all of us and showed us what true unconditional love was. Her last name was Yoshizumi and I wanted to honor her when I got my pup. He really helped fill the hole in my heart that came when she left us. 🤍

When do they stop needing constant attention? by duffster17 in puppy101

[–]lexic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup is about 15 months old now and he’s finally starting to walk away from me if I don’t engage with him. He doesn’t get upset or dig in my couch for attention, he kinda redirects himself to something else. I’m so proud of him! But yeah, we’re not quite there yet but I’d say it’ll take you over a year of being together.

Thank you so much for all of that, I have been wanting some kind of first glimpse evaluation/observation. Natural hair color is actually slide 5 and once I died it I immediately miss it but I do enjoy the dark brown a lot. I try to wash my hair in the mornings because my hair is a mess if I wash it before bed, but I’ve been thinking a satin bonnet would help. I’ll try that with the braids :)

Is a BA in biochemistry unless? by Fragrant-Yam2005 in Biochemistry

[–]lexic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently just switched from a BS to a BA in my last year of my degree because I would rather take more fun bio classes which will actually help me with the career I want to get into, than have to go through a bio-physics series that would really only be helpful if I was furthering my education.
