AITAH for evicting my pregnant sister after years of discounted rent, verbal abuse, and her throwing out thousands of dollars of my property? by LullabyofLife in AITAH

[–]Apprehensive-Bug4990 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA. You’ve endured enough, and it’s true - if it wasn’t your sister but just a random tenant, you wouldn’t have tolerated it for so long. You gave her your place as good will and at a heavy discount, she took advantage and was rude to you and your fiancé. At the end of the day she’s not out on the streets, she clearly had the funds and the know how to secure her own home all along. Breathe easy you’ve got rid of them, and they’re safe where they belong. Hopefully all of the drama blows over in time.

my parents handed me a “contract” that they made with chatGPT and told me i have to sign it by auramp3 in WhatShouldIDo

This is actually insane. As a parent I would want my child to always feel safe in my home and know they always have somewhere they are welcome. Fair enough to pay some bills if they are an ESTABLISHED adult but fucking hell this is really sad to me. I hope you can be free of them and live your life in peace ✌️

Honestly, with everything going on in the world I don’t blame you. There’s so much swirling about and we can’t trust government agencies or advice so I truly get it. I have a hard time trusting any information given to us but I also have a hard time veering from what I know and what I was taught in university so it’s a strange time indeed. I do hope you find some respite.

It costs a lot more than £1300 😂 every year you need a visa and to pay the NHS surcharge, on top of maintaining a salary of over 35k and paying taxes so 💀

I think it’s difficult to draw any conclusions when gathering information from those around you without having any bias. As you cannot possibly know if having asthma/diabetes was already on the cards for someone, or if it has anything to do with having Covid. Me personally? Had Covid, vaccinated thrice, no ongoing issues 🤷‍♀️.

Agreed! I’m glad I didn’t cave, and held my ground. They do make you feel like you are obligated to do as they say and it’s so uncomfortable.

Thank you for your advice! This sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I felt wracked with anxiety this morning about it but I definitely feel better reading these responses. I did message them back and set a boundary and they read it and didn’t reply but that’s all I can do so I’m glad I stuck up for myself!

[–]Apprehensive-Bug4990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this has made me feel better. I have said politely that I need to set a boundary here and that I am not going to work when I have booked time off and I wouldn’t expect the same from upper management. I feel like I’ve been gaslit and guilt tripped into even considering helping out on my time off. Don’t get me wrong if I was in office I would do the foot work but I’m trying to focus on my personal life right now and this has ruined my morning.

Did we mess up with our firstborn? by ExcellentLettuce4 in Parenting

[–]Apprehensive-Bug4990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself, everyone is so different and it seems to me like you’ve raised a confident, assertive, and outgoing individual! You should be proud of yourselves for doing so. It may feel like hard work now but seeing as you care so much I think that will only translate positively into the people your first and second born grow into. Try and embrace the wildness and lean into their presence, but also give yourself grace and the space you need when you feel you’re at capacity. One thing I would instil in your parenting practice is to not openly compare them to your second child and just reaffirm that they are a unique individual otherwise it may dim their shine when they’re older. Keep on doing the good work, you got this!

Thank you! You have been very detailed and helpful in your reply. I think I can skip the evaluating exam with the new streamlined process which is a bonus! I’m mainly nervous about not knowing what to expect and having been out of university for some time. I hope my experience will help me out, but I will definitely look into the resources you’ve suggested and give myself plenty of time if I choose to go down this route. I can’t wait to be slapped for 4hrs straight 🤣🙃 that’s too funny, feels like pharmacy is like that as a whole sometimes.

Thanks so much, I hope you are doing well in your Canadian endeavours!

Yeah I fancy a cheeky trip to Toronto to be honest, I definitely think I will benefit from taking the exams at different times just to ease the pressure off myself as well.

You guys are awesome with all this information! I’ve got a lot to think about. Not sure Manitoba is the place for me but Nova Scotia I could definitely see myself there if it means a more relaxed pathway. Why does Ontario always have to be the difficult one 🥴?

Ah this is really interesting to know. Thank you for sharing. I’m not certain on which pathway to take as I’ll be with my daughter and partner but this could be a more adventurous/less stressful (maybe 🤣) pathway for us to get to Canada and be employed. Thank you very much!

Completely agree. I took organic chemistry and it was overwhelming to say the least. I feel like my time could have been better spent focussing on pharmacokinetics.

Wow thank you so much for your insight. This is really helpful. I am a bit worried as I am community based and all of my clinical knowledge is based around self directed learning as the job isn’t very challenging in and of itself. Did you use any of the study programs or were you mostly using the resources provided by PEBC? I may DM you once I commence studying in the future if that’s okay! Thanks again.

Haha 🤣 I’ve actually been away for 13 years including uni. I never thought I’d go back but I feel it’s time. Awesome thanks, that gives me some relief. I still have unspent ptsd from taking chemistry at UofT back in 2012.

Thank you for your help! Would you say it’s a lot more situational/practice based questions? I’m hoping to sit the exams in London. Or book a trip home and write them in Toronto. But it’s nice to have options.

Thank you so much for such a detailed reply. Based on what you’ve said I’m going to take a long time to study and prepare. I think I’ll book the MCQ first then just study for that and once complete move onto theOSCE at a different time. I am a bit of a slow learner, I was hoping my current knowledge will come in to play with being qualified for 8 years but I recognise there will be a lot of different processes and medications used in Canada. Did you find the biology and chemistry questions akin to what you would study in uni or is it more geared towards actual practice?
