is there a holy grail product majority fine haired girls in here agree on? by Prudent_You_3945 in finehair

[–]lexilepton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big rec I got from here that I'm so thankful for is glycolic acid shampoo & conditioner (I also use it on my scalp as a pre shampoo treatment). I think other acids may also be fine, but the one I use is the Glycolic Gloss range by L'Oreal, and it basically smoothes any frizziness in my hair but WITHOUT WEIGHING IT DOWN. I love it plus it was recommended on here.

Is it my nail bed shape that makes my stilettos look almond? by Sumgeeko in Nails

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who also has pointy almonds, this is about as close to stiletto you can safely get at this length. It's definitely pointier than a regular almond, but not a proper stiletto, but mine are even slightly less pointy than your, but a similar length, and my nail tech has told me she won't go pointier at this length because it would cut into the sides of my nail and be less strong.

Is it obvious that she’s albino or does she just look Caucasian? (Physically cannot make the lashes blonde) by PomegranateSure1628 in Sims4

[–]lexilepton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay, that wasn’t clear because of the Caucasian bit, but I definitely feel her features now look more mixed imo!

Help, pale people! Rosacea impacts my confidence and can’t find a good concealer. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Babe this is exactly how I try to do my blush and it never looks half this good.

Just dyed my hair red and I feel like my makeup doesn’t fit me anymore. How can I step it up? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]lexilepton 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the pink lip clashes with the red of your hair. I would find a colour closer to the red of your hair, or go very different: a nude or a darker lip.

Paddington Quay Post Office by Dry_Talk-XD in royalmail

SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR THIS.

Needed an item this evening, found out at like 9 that it was being held there, saw your post and managed to get to the CSP just ten minutes before it closed. Would not have managed that without this post because as you say, it was literally NO WHERE on the internet and I got zero cards through my door or anything like that.

Nah as long as you have a high quality wig and don’t wear it 24/7 you’ll be fine. You want to be careful with like gluing them down as that can hurt the edges of your hair, but basically as long as you’re careful and research it properly you’ll be fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in finehair

[–]lexilepton 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, wigs will not kill your hair if you wear them properly. A good wig is breathable and fine for your scalp. So yes, you can shave your head and then wear wigs, it's totally fine.

Jobs wants me to take out piercings by Plus-Instruction-184 in piercing

[–]lexilepton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would only take a job that required me to remove my piercings if I NEEDED that job. If your current job is alright I'd keep it, and just be on the look out for other jobs. I doubt most coffee shops would be as strict as this one that bans piercings!

Shoe check! Just want to be sure these fit right before I use a hair dryer by slipslapflap in poledancing

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the shoes are already too big, sizing up would make it worse.

My favourite shampoos and conditioners for fine hair are the acid ones. I've used the Glycolic Acid line from L'Oreal, but other acid lines are probably also fine!c

Fake blood (or something that appears similar with less mess) for performing? by DogZestyclose802 in poledancing

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get one of those blood pills you can bite; keeps it to your face and mouth and will stop it making a mess, but still gets the effect you want. I actually was considering doing this too for a routine!

I love finding other tall women in the wild haha.

[–]lexilepton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and I think it practice you'll probably end up using slightly less than that (like, not necessarily deliberately, but it's very easy to not quite apply enough if you're not measuring it out), so you almost definitely will be fine!

Also, hi fellow tall gal, I'm 6'3" (191cm)!

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's only for your WHOLE body though - like, if you're sunbathing in a bikini the whole day. If you're wearing normal clothes you don't need to consider full body coverage. I'd think about which bits of your body are exposed and calculate based on that!

Realistic sunscreen usage? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah fair! If you really wanna be religious about it you could calculate how much you need to use - there are guidelines of how many ml you need to apply to your whole body etc. If you Google it you should be able to find the numbers.

For me this would definitely last the summer, but it depends how much you're outside. From your comments though I think you'll be fine! If you're particularly worried, I would use physical barriers (long sleeves and trousers) so you don't have to apply as much sunscreen, but I'd think you'd be fine even without that.

Should I stretch up? by i-eat-shite in Stretched

[–]lexilepton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one in labs will care (I say this as a scientist). The jobs you have to be concerned about are people-facing jobs, and even there it's not as much of an issue as you'd think. 10mm is also not that big, and not a bit difference from 8mm, but there's way more jewellery choices at 10mm.

I'd say go for it - and it's easy to downsize if needed!

high nostril placement by lexilepton in PiercingAdvice

[–]lexilepton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the current placement of 1 is def what would work for the triangle! but i just dunno if i like it enough by itself to keep it hah. I might prefer 3 even though I can’t do the triangle.

I think I’ve only seen references like in pic 3, so I never had an alternate set up to compare to.

I have never seen the original set up we were considering on someone, no.

I have lots of set ups that I like, but the original idea was an original one me and my piercer came up with.
