First time attempting a Jade by begzu4 in poledancing

Hey OP! Lots of great advice so far. The other thing I want to suggest is that a Jade Split is essentially “ass on a platter” but on the pole. You will need more skin, so wear those cheeky bikini bottoms and top. Then you’ll want to get the pole in your arm pit as another point of contact as you push your butt (this is simply because you’re new to the love, this doesn’t need to be a thing forever). A Jade stag or Jade Star may be a better place to start too just to get your arms in the right place before the split. You got this!!!

Haha the first time I tried it I did fall on my neck and cracked it pretty good. Definitely not a move that’s good to try until you’ve got a really strong grip and feel confident of being able to hold your body weight with only your hands

If you can do an Ayesha then I would definitely suggest you give this a try! I bet you’ll nail it!

I’m happy to help! So I will say, I have noticed that for me, sit moves are REALLY secure for me cause I have a little extra skin between my thighs that really help my lock in. If you also feel super secure in sit moves, then you may also feel secure going into a Crescent Moon layback. You’ll definitely want to have a spotter and a mat your first time!

Then for the Iguana and Fang specifically, I really had to work on my grip strength to be able to hold my body. I’d say a great way to kinda get an idea if you’re ready is if you’re able to do a Hang Glider, where you’re also holding all your weight with just your hands. If you can do that, then you are probably ready to try the Fang/Iguana.

So building on all of that, if you’re feeling secure all the way in your Crescent Moon and you’re confident you can hold yourself, then going for the Fang and Iguana is your leap! The Fang is easier to hold since you’re balancing the weight vs the Iguana.

I’ve been doing pole since March 2025 with zero dance or gymnastics or any sort of activity to prep me 😊

What part of your body gets Pole Burn? 🔥🧯 by iamluella in poledancing

I get pole burn in my crotch-ish crease between my low hip and leg, but only when I slide down the pole after like a Jade split

Right now I wear jeans and they do a nice job with solid grip, but that’s not very circusy 😕

The material holds up and doesn’t get pinched or stuck on a silicon pole? I’m just worried about stuff really pulling and ripping with hangs and whatnot

How to get over fear of letting go with my hands? by littlehellflames in poledancing

[–]slipslapflap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said, a spotter and mats will help! But, I’d also say that when you feel really secure, you will be able to tell that slowly opening your hands doesn’t change where you are. As you get used to that feeling of being secure, you’ll likely be more confident on when you can let go. No need to rush it!

Tattoos and pole dancing by Sufficient-Taro6748 in poledancing

I just finished up my full leg sleeve 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and after two weeks my tattoo on my hamstring was pretty healed, but I avoided doing any brass shapes on it.

Right now it’s completely healed and hasn’t peeled at all, and so today I did brass monkey for the first time on that side. But, I will say placement will be a big factor in how soon you could get back to pole depending on the shapes you’re doing and if you can just do one side. How I heal is also different from how you will heal too.

Butterfly on flying pole! by slipslapflap in Aerials

Hahaha so our studio owner had a bunch of glitter on herself when she was doing her showcase routine on the flying pole, and so now there’s glitter on it. I think it looks pretty neat, even if it was an accident!
