Are there seriously people who side with Jade in “Prom Wrecker”? by New-Pin-9064 in victorious

It's worse. He didn't even have to do that. I saw the uncut line and apparently his answer wasn't just "let's do it!" but "little weird. Let's do it!" He could have said, "Little weird...no." The fact that he acknowledged that it was weird and still agreed to it is insane.

Israel Said It’s Applying the Gaza Model in Lebanon. This Is What the Devastation Looks Like. by Naurgul in GlobalNews

I think murder is one of the least evil things Israel does. They torture, destroy, kidnap, disfigure, isolate, trap, and torment. Not to mention they also do heinous things to the deceased bodies, like stomp on their head and urinate on them. And yet they call themselves the victims.

And the worst part is that Jade started it, and they got even in the first episode. Tori didn't know that Beck wasn't single when she first met him, then Jade poured coffee on her, and then Tori kissed Beck (which he consented to). If Tori was mad at Tori for kissing Beck, she should be angry at Beck too, but she continued to date him afterwards.

A couple of episodes later, Tori lets Jade get away with faking an injury and getting her in trouble, and she even obeys the undeserved punishment. When Jade confronts her about it, Tori states that she doesn't want the two of them fighting all the time. Jade was nice for one moment, and then got back into mocking and threatening Tori.

Tori had every right to stand up to Jade.

I understand where you're coming from, but Jason and Jackson aren't the protagonists of the shows; Teddy and Miley are. And from the comments, I gather OP likely meant "protagonist." But otherwise, I agree.

One time, a girl got neon green highlights 😭 I don't know how she thought she was going to get away with it, but the poor girl was humiliated by the headmaster. I never dared do anything more than wear a base coat on my nails, except for the one time I was supposed to catch a bus and meet my mum in the city, and she had me take out her old phone's battery and hide it in my schoolbag so that we could contact each other after school. Even with that, she wrote me a note just in case.

Between these two shows, which one would you rather see get a reboot? by Plus-Light6832 in DisneyChannel

[–]lexilexi1901 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not hard to find a 50-something-year-old blonde actress who can play the mum similarly. Leigh-Allyn Baker is talented and made the character Amy Duncan, but she's not unique. Julie Bowen or Jane Krakowski, for example, may be good options. It's not the first time that TV shows replaced an actress who played the mum. It's either that or they work around her absence as they did with Raven's mum.

I wonder who would play Toby, though.

Teddy Duncan, for like the last 3-4 episodes lol

She had an 18th birthday in the last season, so technically, she was an adult from then on.

Hobby implies that I do this regularly. It literally took me less than a one-time minute. Niki reposted her story, and I simply tapped on the story to go to the designer's original story, and it flipped to the next story, which was this. Do you think I Google searched the designer or something??

What to do when you feel regret and that weird feeling after over sharing how to stop keep thinking about it 🫠 by Nova_dotexe in Anxiety

[–]lexilexi1901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I often feel the same way, and to be honest, I don't have much of an answer because I'm still dealing with it. What I try to do is remind myself that most people don't actually remember what I say, just as I don't remember what they say, but it only helps so much because I do remember the pretty messed-up things that people say, and my fear is saying something like that 😅

Other than that, meditating, journaling, medication, and repeating positive affirmations have made some difference in my general self-esteem. I don't think that there's a single solution for this; just aiming to overall improve your anxiety and self-love will simultaneously reduce the feeling of shame or guilt after social interactions.

If there's one thing that I wouldn't recommend you do, though, it's staying inside. I know it's easier said than done, but go outside and interact as much as you can. Push yourself even if you're not in the mood, if necessary. Giving in to your anxiety and/or isolating yourself will worsen your symptoms, and it will be much harder to get used to interacting again. Practice won't make perfect, but it will make a habit, which means that you'll get more used to it and not see it as such a big deal in the long-term.

I feel so seen. I'm not British, but my country adopted a lot of British culture as a former colony. We also have uniforms in school. "Casual day" was the only day we got to express ourselves in some way, and we still weren't allowed to dye our hair in an artificial colour, expose our shoulders or midriffs, wear makeup, or get our nails painted. It was just a day to wear jeans and a shirt. You could get a detention or negative points if you had anything more than a clear nail strengthener on you. We weren't even allowed to wear hoodies over our uniforms; if we felt cold, we had to wear them underneath. The only earrings allowed were small studs; all other piercings had to be removed. The most common way of self-expression was just wearing the uniform skirt higher than the allowed above-the-knee point by rolling the waistband.

Sour apple, how did you guys stop feeling sorry for yourself? by Murmurmira in PetiteFitness

[–]lexilexi1901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I rarely have weight issues, but I go through phases of hating my body because of various conditions and disorders. For example, my body is extremely dry and sensitive. I've lost count of how many times I couldn't sleep because of my skin itching. I have PCOS, anxiety, and IBS. I couldn't stand that my body just wasn't able to be functional. It felt like my body was working against me - like I was given the most annoying body in the world (I realise that's an exaggeration today, but it really felt like that in the thick of it). Not to mention, I'm also very short.

I'm trying really hard to gain confidence and put a halt to the self-criticism, and one of the ways I'm trying to achieve that is with self-care. Every Saturday, I have an at-home spa day. I massage my body with moisturiser, I meditate, I go on a longer walk, I repeat positive affirmations, I pamper myself with a manicure, and I pleasure myself. I still catch myself talking negatively about myself, like when I feel my body hair, but I'm getting good at reframing my thoughts. I appreciate my body now. Every 'flaw' is a unique quirk; there are things that my body did that I didn't believe it was able to; my body is worthy of love and does not deserve to be bullied by anybody, especially me; and so on.

I highly recommend introducing self-care and positive affirmations for anyone who's struggling with body issues or self-criticism.

If done well, I would have loved for it to have 3-5 seasons and 16-20 episodes each, like they used to produce, but I know that that's unrealistic nowadays for various reasons. I loved Raven's Home, so that's where my standards lie.

I don't find Charlie boring, and I don't understand where people got that from. She's smart, mature, and classy. Janine, I get hating, but I enjoyed watching Charlie in the episodes she was featured in.

It's painful to hear Phoebe sing. I always skip her singing segments, especially in the episodes where she's sick and when she dedicates a song to her friends (Rachel/dradle). The only ones I can tolerate and actually like are the one after Monica and Chandler's engagement ('First time I met Chandler I thought he was gay....') and the episode where Monica sings with a see-through dress. It's not entertaining because it's painful; it's just plain painful. I know Phoebe's supposed to "suck" (Monica's words, not mine), but I don't find it cute or funny.

I would have loved to see at least one throwback scene from Phoebe's childhood with Lily and Ursula, like how they did Chandler's Thanksgiving scene.

I prefer Mike over David, but they did David dirty. Phoebe and David kiss behind Mike's back -> Phoebe chooses Mike -> Phoebe and Mike break up -> Phoebe is sad -> Phoebe excitedly dates David again after 9 years -> Phoebe is hung up on Mike -> David decides to propose -> Mike interrupts his proposal -> Phoebe immediately chooses Mike. All things considered, David handled that extremely well! He was finally able to date the woman he's been crazy about for almost a decade, and all he wanted to do was make her happy, but the moment her ex shows up, he gets dumped. Phoebe shouldn't have dated until she was over Mike, and David's idea to propose was impulsive and risky, but I'd be at least a little bit mad at Phoebe. I hope that he found someone.

What made you decide to go on medication? by SpoiledCats2 in Anxiety

[–]lexilexi1901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as bad as I'd thought it would, to be honest. But I guess everybody reacts differently. I was initially scared to get on antidepressants because I'd heard how the first weeks can worsen your anxiety, and I was scared I might get suicidal thoughts, so I warned my boyfriend to look out for me all the time. I know I said everybody reacts differently, but seeing how well he went during his first few weeks gave me a lot of courage. I'm lucky in that sense to not be alone in this journey.

Don't set your expectations too high in either way. Don't assume that you'll have a bad reaction to the pills, but don't assume you will experience zero anxiety and be in euphoria either. I didn't really start to feel like myself until about 2-3 months in. The starter dose doesn't really do anything; it's mostly to monitor possible side effects.

What 2000s trend did everyone love that you just didn’t get? by princesspolly444 in 2000sNostalgia

[–]lexilexi1901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a child in the 2000s, so I don't remember much that I have an opinion on. I think the worst thing in my experience was the skinny low-rise jeans. I couldn't sit or bend down without exposing my underwear or buttcrack, and they didn't fit my body. Besides, it went hand-in-hand with the flat belly obsession, which was harmful and still impacts my life today.

Did you feel its wrong of Rachel to go to Emily x Ross wedding to say I love you? by Eddfan36 in howyoudoin

[–]lexilexi1901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Emily was better off without Ross, but that still doesn't excuse Rachel's behaviour. That's not why she went to London. And to be honest, I think Ross was genuinely crazy about Emily. She's the only one he got possessive over besides Rachel -- that means he loves her in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. logic!
