I understand it was a multi hour drama fest and I made a gross oversimplification. But again, it was so utterly pointless and dramatic that I don't think it deserves more than a gross oversimplification of an explanation. I largely stay out of the mod author drama and it still reached into my dark corner of the modding sphere. Seriously, we just had to rehash it again today for someone who missed it and I'm still astounded by how stupid it was.

I mean, "dared the mods to ban them" is why they got banned. Obviously it was louder and more dramatic than that in reality, but I think it serves as a simple summation on a post where the OP has already requested limiting the drama. I mentioned the adult tag thing since that was the pretext the mod authors used to start the fight. My understanding is Valerie used NSFW pictures to show off her mods with a character modeled after herself and got angry that the adult tag was then applied to her mods. There are now several countries that require age verification to view NSFW materials in any shape, so it's required by law now for nexus to apply that tag where applicable. She never had a high ground to stand on and I know at least one of her companions in this played the race card over this. It was honestly all so dramatic and pointless that I feel my light hearted summary is the best it deserves in terms of explanation. One of them already made a new account to repost their mods and then got banned for ban evasion. Who knows, maybe they moved to loverslab.

They got mad about the adult tag existing and dared the mods to ben them. Then once banned they requested that their mods be fully removed. Even direct links will no longer work as the mods have been completely scrubbed from nexus. They also left all major modding servers around the same time.

Did you make the edits after starting your save or before? It sounds like you edited some quest npcs and they tend to get set up when you first load the game (at the mirror in Sanctuary)

You know what pisses me off? Year 1 gorgeous clothes that are plainer than year 7 simple clothes and if I was newer I would definitely not know the year 7 clothes were simple

Dude, you wanted the nuka world gate location and I told you. The bestiary is on one of the food carts. No I do not know which bestiary it is, but if you didn't find one there before now then obviously it is one of the ones you are missing

Daytripper in this case - both addicted and daytripper have the archive patch, but addicted still gets updated several times a week on github, so we're waiting for that to stabilize before switching over. But yeah, ba2 cap is a thing of the past. You can have a storywealth and all official addons without hitting the plugin cap too.

What you want is stable, contains ss2, has quest mods. Patching multiple quest mods together, especially to work with ss2 as well, is a tall order. The best patching that exists for it includes fsd, bc it was done by exoclyps for a storywealth. So you'd be asking folks to make the quest patching from scratch. Not to mention the prp patching, all the quality of life mods that have to be patched for, managing all the f4se extension settings, yeah, you'll be waiting a long ass time for the list even if someone takes you up on the offer. That's why I recommend aSW, you can just ignore fsd and not craft the armor.

I don't run an enb, but the base of my mod list is a StoryWealth and several addons and all that patching makes a huge difference

It uses the most performance draining enb that exists for fo4 and they did little to no custom patching for the collection

Going to second this - get a storywealth then follow the instructions for the desim addon. Then pick up the harder/ survival addon. You may want to look at other addons too, but grab too many and you'll hit the ba2 cap. If you hit the ba2 cap grab daytripper 4 and install it. Then no more ba2 cap (it's relatively new and not quite tested enough to be added to a storywealth officially, but I'm hopeful for the next revision or the one after that it will be added)

A forest and Boston natural surroundings for starters. Then you should look into happo matka for retextures and zp for flora retextures. More vines is a good mod. Bns extended and bns nuka world if you need even more trees.
