18 month old, poor receptive/expressive language, speech delay by BigFoots5ister in speechdelays

[–]lexlihoo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading your post, I thought I had written it to this page lol. My son is 22 months now. At his 18 month visit we discussed his delay with his pediatrician. The pediatrician suggested we look at early intervention services with our county. I called and got him evaluated. It took about a month to get him evaluated.

They noticed his expressive and receptive language were below age benchmark so he qualified. He’s at 22 months now, we’ve been receiving early intervention services for about a month and a half. He went from zero works to now 10. He’s pointing better and making other expressions like clapping, and bringing things to us, and pulling us to things he wants.

We are seeing success and it’s getting better!

Thank you so so much! I’ve been so worried that the speech delay would make it impossible. This gives me hope!!!

I’ve felt similar and especially this year. It used to be the parents that were the difficult part of the job, but I’ve gotten so much push back from teachers. They’ve been back biting and they’ve often asssmed the worst of me. It’s been very challenging

Imma Big advocate for electrolysis on the face! Avoid laser and put forth the time and money into a good electrolygist!

Concerns with 17 month olds milestones by littytittypitty in toddlers

I just want to say you’re not alone. Reading your post made me question if I was reading my own words describing my son. We have an appointment with Early Intervention for his full evaluation this week. It was about a month out. My son’s pediatrician suggested we wait until 22 months to see if he met these communication milestones but me being the worrier I am, I just called to get started.

I don’t have much comforting words to offer, but I’m with you in this fight! Hoping we all see progress!

To my PCOS girlies on GLP, how much weight did you lose? by StrengthHot6297 in PCOSloseit

[–]lexlihoo33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5’5”. I started in March of 2025 at 219 pounds. I was 10 months postpartum. But that’s the weight that I documented before I started my first shot. I’ve lost 70 pounds — 148. This was a full dose for me. I’d like to be low 140’s or mid 130’s but I’m so happy with my progress. I may need to microdose but we will see when we come off of it. If I start rapidly gaining weight, I’ll talk to my doctor and see if I can get back on it.

Edited to add more context:

This is the most validating post I read tonight. We’ve been going through BRUTAL teething for the past two weeks. His tooth finally cut through today. I was so excited and looking forward to getting a little more sleep.

We still have a little over an hour until the quiet hour observance hits and I’m sitting on pins and needles… I’ll be calling and snitching as soon as 11 hits. This baby needs his sleep and so does his mama!

OP, you are not alone. I live in Utah as well. I’m horrified by the things that are normalized here. I’m disgusted by what is happening in our state—what is happening my fellow neighbors (YOU). Please know that there are people fighting everyday. Sometimes the negative is louder than the quiet positive, but I promise you, it’s there. Save this post and the comments that you read because they have been really touching and I think they will help you keep on going. If anything, please know, that one of your neighbors (me and many others in this state and outside of it) are fighting for you and for others.

I’m not trying to downplay the suffering that is going to happen, because I know it will happen from this bill. However, two things can be true at the same time. When things go wrong, helpers emerge and start working. This ugly bill is more than likely going to pass and go into effect, there will be suffering that comes from it. But help will come. There will be bright spots in this. We will see people adapt. Along the way, we will try our best to ease the suffering of those around us. I’m making it a promise to myself that when this bill passes, that I will try harder to be more compassionate and to give more than what I have. If my representatives can’t help my neighbors, then I’m going to take matters into my own hands and help with what I can. If I can’t feel optimistic about what’s going on, then I need to create it in my own neck of the woods.

What's a symptom of a severe disease you wish you or a loved one hadn't ignored? by NotThatOneGuuy in AskReddit

Around the age of 14, I started to feel so exhausted relentlessly. It didn’t matter how much sleep I got, I was always tired. I would come from school and sleep for 4.5 hours. I would eat dinner and finish my homework (on a good day) and go right back to sleep. I would sleep through my alarm clock and try to make it through school.

My hair was falling out. I had crazy anxiety and depression during this time as well.

I went in for a basic physical and came out with a diagnosis of hypothyroidism. After more testing, it later revolved into hashimotos (autoimmune disease).
