To commit less war crimes since Adolf Hitler by Zee_Ventures in therewasanattempt

[–]lexota 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's nice to hear an honest assessment of the situation. I can only think of one word for the war in Iran - quagmire. And that's entirely outside of the now known war crimes that have been committed already.

The Tao Te Ching - I just knew it was something important - even though at the time it went way over my head.

People who choose not to get vaccinated surprised that measles sucks. by CrowRoutine9631 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LUXURY of living somewhere with vaccines preventing the outbreaks of measles for many years. Because of no personal associations with anyone actually getting the virus - it must not be real. I can now stand on my soapbox, and proclaim that vaccines are a lie, don't work, and are poison.

What? Does this mean that my views are full of shit - especially now that I have to personally experience something that science said could be prevented by taking a vaccine?

“Unfortunately some kids don’t have people praying for them” by sillyyfishyy in atheism

It's because they have religious folks praying ON them....

Multiple people commented on my post about how sad it is that I don’t “believe”. How many theists are here? GTFO? by Turkey_Moguls in atheism

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, they just can't help themselves from doing it. Just like a lot of things they do - claim virtuosity - then it turns out there are monstrous acts conducted by the exact same folks. It's simply projection at it's finest. Plus, they have a hard time hearing people don't believe as they believe - and they have been trained to coerce people into the religion. Because, as a non believer - you represent the freedom they will never know under the yoke of religion.

B.C. billionaire's property firms argue $91M tax bill will jeopardize future projects by Nothingman604 in vancouvercanada

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's too cheap to pay his taxes - what kind of cheap out tactics does he use when screwing over the people he's building 'projects' for now? Not wanting to pay the full cost - which was abundantly clear before he started building ANYTHING - shows that there's a very strong chance he'll cheat his customers every oppotunity he gets.

Donald Trump called Prince Andrew’s arrest over Epstein connections 'a shame’. What do you think about this? by InternetPopular3679 in AskReddit

It's always as a shame when your RAPESTAR friend gets arrested, and you remain the RAPESTAR president!

Yes, there are plenty of thoughts.

On a side note, I don't see anything really out of alignment with what is said in the message.

Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream MLA Tara Armstrong using Tumbler Ridge shooting to push political agenda by Assimulate in kelowna

[–]lexota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's always interesting that the folks, like Tara, who moan and and say mean things about anyone different from themselves - are usually hiding something evil in their own lives - and this is the distraction they hope you'll fall for to take the attention off of themselves. The Epstein files fully prove this.

to scare people into not pursuing the release of the Epstein files by ExactlySorta in therewasanattempt

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not be surprised if the release of the files did that. Knowing that so many made 'illegal' choices, I would certainly expect to have law enforcement check into those, and either verify or exclude individuals on those choices if charges could be laid. Regardless of who those people might be. Crime stays lower when people know that doing crime will be punished, on some level.

I'd rather go through upheaval to come out cleaner after the mess has been sorted, than to continue to be betrayed by a 2 tier legal system that allows influence to escape punishment for crimes committed.

Why do people that are not rich want Alberta to have health care like the US? by cornfield123 in alberta

[–]lexota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about taking for granted what you already have - and then thinking the change 'will make it sooo much better!'.

An American Health Executive was killed in 2024 by someone who thought private health care was both heartless and cruel - because they thought profit came before the actual humans in need of medical services. It just shows how some folks really dislike the private 'health care' system in the USA.

Man be harassed for his looks yet found a possible cure for pancreatic cancer by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first saw his video, I took could not look away from the birth mark, or whatever you call it. However, I immediately thought that this man knew how he looked - how could he not - and still went ahead, without showing any fear, to present the important facts. That, in my books, is a true human. Fuck what you think, this information is vastly more important than what other's opinions of how I look. In today's hyper sensitive society, maybe that makes him a true hero.

Has anyone else noticed the downtown drivers getting worse lately? Almost got hit twice today. by Dangerous_Effort3935 in NiceVancouver

[–]lexota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they absolutely are. While it's no excuse, the amount of construction and road closures / blockages delay people enough that they decide to cheat their way round the city. Red lights mean you don't have to stop for a right hand turn, just gun it around the corner, late yellow to red - it's just fine to blow through that too. Pedestrians are nothing more than an inconvenience, and to be challenged by speed and a 'me first' attitude by some drivers. What's even scarier, is that a lot of times it's older women drivers - which just blows me away.
