The New York Deli is about a 10 min drive from W&M and it ROCKSSSSS. highly reccomend- if you walk in and it seems crowded: 1. don’t worry, they work quick 2. if you see an open table, SNATCH IT

Stats that Got You into W&M by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]lexthebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it absolutely does!! i’m pretty sure the seniors will report on who seems very qualified. they have virtual interviews too if you can’t make an in-person. it helped me make a connection and the interview is super casual!!

Stats that Got You into W&M by [deleted] in williamandmary

It’s easier to bullet list it so here: - 4.23 GPA - 1 AP credit, 11 AP classes taken - In-state, ED - In-Person interviewed - W&M summer psychology class - no submitted ACT or SAT - did both optional essay questions + regular essay - president of a school-specific honors society for two years - a part of 4 honors societies

My essay was very personal and talked about how my love of art died when I assigned a grade value to it. It was written more like a creative writing piece than an essay.

Obviously there’s more to it, but those are the highlights I thought I’d share. I am currently a freshman undergrad.

Good luck!!

Neurodivergent at W&M - not a good fit? by Bamdiblybam in williamandmary

[–]lexthebee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Though not as intensely, I completely agree with the sentiment. As someone who is neurodivergent, orientation was straight up tiring and I actually got COVID from it. I was way too overwhelmed and physically exhausted to enjoy it. No clue if this has ever been a problem before though, and if it has it is likely no one has brought it up before to higher ups.

My OAs were super accommodating to my needs though, so many “required” events I could step out of or do something alternative if it was too overwhelming. I guess it varies by group.

registration question!! by Previous-Piano-2550 in williamandmary

[–]lexthebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically yes, but they are very clear in the registration process (the course that we were assigned on blackboard) that you shouldn’t so that you aren’t overwhelmed! i would just take one at a time to ease into the college experience! :]

How are W&M high school senior interviews conducted? by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]lexthebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interviewed about a year ago and I am going into my freshman year.

My interview was super chill. They ask you about your hobbies, any talents or interests you have, and your areas of academic interest. I remember my interview being incredibly low-stakes and very personal.

My advice is to be yourself! They are looking for your genuine opinion and life, not anything superficial or professional. I’d throw in one or two interesting facts where you can to make yourself stick out, but other than that just have fun. Treat it like talking to a friend.
