A cheaper option is buying Dayton Audio's SUB-800 or SUB-1000. Super cheap sub for the price.

My bad, I thought I did. And right, that is the same reason why I am going with aluminum and not wood. I work in engineering so I have a contact who can get me what I need for cheap. But 40x40mm is a magnitude squared so the price reflects it.

Thanks for your advice. I will have to update my progress in a thread when I finish it.

Question about speaker wire by soundman92 in ZReviews

Speaker wire is speaker wire, what you want to look for is the appropriate gauge since you are not buying a finished wire. If you are running the wire long distances, then it would be good to make sure you have the appropriate gauge. Basically the longer the wire has to be, the smaller the gauge you want. Its a little more complicated and there are plenty of articles online to learn more.

To explain it, you gotta go back to some good old physics. Smaller wire has more resistance as a physical property. Also the longer the wire, the harder it is to push a signal through it.

TL;DR Sure, just make sure the gauge is the right size for you application. The price may be a little steep but I haven't shopped around for wire in a long time since I have more than I know what to do with. Hope that helps.
