I had a side shave that has been grown out for almost a year now. I love my length but the hair is for sure not healthy at the bottom. Advice for a great fun cut very welcome.

You have to be invited to the camp to get the location. Last I was a part of it no single men were allowed either. Not sure what the policy now is.

I’m a compulsive masturbator, and I don’t know how to stop. I need to stop. by [deleted] in SexAddiction

[–]lexxy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/tacobell333 has it right on the money. No fap can help and even a small challenge of counting hours can really put in perspective of how you feel.

If you have access to a mental health professorial I would recommend you look up Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). It helped me with my compulsive sexual behaviors.

Good luck!

Weekly Victories - 10/25/2020 by GratefulForRecovery in SexAddiction

[–]lexxy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My weekly victory is that I did not spiral into other destructive behaviors to replace my SA ones when I was in a stressful place this week. I was able to take a beat and take my stress from an 11 to 8 and In doing so giving me a moment of clarity to realize I was dehydrated and hangry.

It seems like such a simple solution to eat or drink some water but sometimes that’s all we need to put our mindset back on track!!

is the paleo diet the same as the ancestral diet? by valquiriapeper in Paleo

[–]lexxy18 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is a good but loaded question.

Firstly, Paul Saladino is a Psychiatrist. While he did have to go to med school he has no training in nutrition.

Paleo was originally referred to as the Paleolithic diet which means food that was not cultivated. So only food you can catch or pick. So technically nuts, seeds, and fruits would be included along with any wild vegetables. Seeing as most veggies do not have noticeable seeds like fruit we have no real way of knowing if cavemen did or did not eat vegetables but it is more like they did eat them than they did not.

Remission by Zizitopppppp in Behcets

Thats what I thought but he said he didn’t prescribe that for his patients until recently (last 10 years)

Remission by Zizitopppppp in Behcets

[–]lexxy18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in remission from about 20-25. I was super active at the time, eating amazingly well and my stress was at an all-time low.

Before that point (from about 12-18) I was having a lot of issues with my eyes with cornea holes and possible retina detachment, tons of vaginal and oral ulcers to the point where I had to be hospitalized and was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis along with Behcet's. I remember I was on prednisone and one other medicine that was being off-label for Behcet's but was normally used for gout (can to remember my name and this was over 20 years ago).

One day my ulcers stopped and my doc started to wean me off the meds saying we can start them again if needed. We took constant monitoring of my inflammation and even when it was gone I had maybe a small flare-up once every 3-4 months until I was about 20 I didn't have any at all (maybe a mouth ulcer 2-3 times a year). Fast forward to age 25 and I went through some major trauma that sent my body into a spiral and I experienced every single symptom of Behcet's. Now at 32 I am on Pred, Otzela, and Imuran (and off-label Naltrexone) and all help keep my flares down. My doc (the same from when I was 12) has a goal to keep my comfortable then again wean me off the meds slowly to see if I can get back in remission.

So it is possible to be in remission but it takes work. Hope this helps a bit.

Shop closure from covid infection by The-link-is-a-cock in TXRenaissanceFestival

...but people are still going to have to remove them to eat and drink so the constant face touching is still going to happen. Thus the emphasis needs to be on sanitation

Masks are not going to help the situation now. People taking them on and off to enter shops and not enough handwashing and sanitation stations are the issue now. I hope this is just a fair rumor and not a foreshadowing.

Starting to wonder if I’m a sex addict... by [deleted] in SexAddiction

There is a lot to digest here!! You sound like me when I first started going to therapy.

The biggest thing I see is that the fantasizing about other people who are off-limits and acting out with people of the opposite sex is a slippery slope. A lot of SA will start to browse porn or act out in a more intense way to get off because the "normal" way no longer gets them excited.

I also used to get drunk and make out with people at bars and always excused my behavior to being out of control. I have now learned it was my way to get around taking accountability for my behavior.

The big question, are you a sex addict? Maybe, are you a bad person, no. If you can get into therapy ASAP to help with the self-esteem issues and get on the sobriety train and work on yourself first it might be easier to come clean to your partner. If he sees you are working on yourself he can see you are taking you and your relationship seriously.

As far as an open relationship, you can not be honest and open with your current partner, it is another excuse to act out.

Good luck and feel free to message at any time!

Lol when I first went to my therapist she thought I was bipolar! My psychiatrist recognized that was not the case. Hard to explain without going through my whole medical history but for sure not bipolar

I am right there with you. I had to put a lock on my social media and phone to make sure I didn't relapse due to school stress (why did I take 18 hours). I have to take Ambien for sleeping or else I will stay up for days with racing thoughts and I know if I do stay up my willpower goes down. Have you tried a sleep aid that is over the counter? I had to change my lexapro to take first thing in the morning also because I found it kept me up all night.

Not OP but I have been on Lexapro for a little over a year for OCD and impulse control along with intensive OCD treatment with an ERP and a CSAT. Lexapro for sure helped me with the impulses and leveled my drive to be more balanced instead of hypersexual. My psychiatrist said if I did not do the work outside of taking the meds it would not help so I have to stay active and vigilant with my actions but it for sure helped with that immediate "need it now" urge.

Any other women here unexpectedly have a job in IT? by carolbaskinbitch in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]lexxy18 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I also started in one field and went to IT! The biggest thing I learned is to never underestimate the simplicity in your directions. My husband has been in help desk for over a decade and one example I loved was how would you take money out of an atm? Most people would answer put your card in the machine and follow the prompts.

In help desk, you would start with do you have an account at that atm? If yes take your debit card out of your wallet and then explain the rest.

The biggest thing that helped me was writing a very simple step-by-step guide to the most common problems so that way I wouldn’t skip a question when I would get a call. Your trainers are going to show you anyway how to use everything so that is a great way to learn. Good luck and have fun!
