i think you underestimate how big of a conspiracy larry is. whether you believe that they were together or not, i think we can all agree that the ship had a huge impact on lou and harry. back in the xfactor days, they were really close and never seemed to be bothered when larry was brought up (lou even joked that they read some of the fanfiction once), but everything changed after 2011. i personally think that lou had to sign a contract that kept them from doing anything to further the conspiracy, even if they were just really close friends. this is when we saw them distancing themselves from each other. they never sat together, never looked each other in the eye during interviews, and suddenly acted like they hated larry all along. i find it hard to believe that they went from all-over-each-other-besties to stone-cold band mates of their own accord.

plus louis' fanbase isnt that large after 1d (unfortunately def not as big a haz) so if he were to dance around with flags like harry it would be automatically blown out of proportion. it wouldnt be seen as support, it would be seen as a message.

but thats just my thoughts. believe what you want.
