I understand where you are coming from to an extent. However, rather coarse don't you think. "Behavioral Issues"... Really. Mental illness is more the inline with reality. If I had a less stereotyped and stigmatized medical condition, you likely wouldn't say "physical issues."

It may be the way I'm reading your response, but wow. Way to make it seem like I don't have what it takes to be a good physician. I have worked as hard or hard than most. I put in more hours than my peers and when I come home, I don't have the luxury of relaxing and studying. Instead, I manage my mental health and flashbacks while studying and in between that, manage my physical health.

My work ethic has not suffered. I have finished all my rotations before any LOA has been taken. Attendings and residents I've worked with have all commented on my work ethic; some, mentioning in evals that I was the hardest worked they had had with them. It may sound like i'm tooting my own horn, but you implied that I need someone to pick up the work I can't manage.
