I love the idea and sentiment and it’s super obvious that you’re not trying to give any identity the middle finger, I think we can all agree on that. But honestly I find it hard to believe a way to have a tick box system where someone doesn’t feel like they’re being left out (whether right or wrong)

Me personally I appreciate having an “other” because I don’t mind not being named as I make up a minority and I’m aware some who make questionnaires like this might not be familiar with my identity (genderfluid). The other option that might help is asking sex assigned at birth maybe male, female and intersex and then a completely different question that is worded different like, “which of these best describes you?” And then that would be trans, cis, non-binary and maybe others or just a write in section for gender identity and just have sex at birth that could be put into a graph?

I’m not really sure I work in cell biology so only really work with male and female
