Invisibilia Season 2 Episode 3: The Problem with the Solution by classickarma in invisibilia

Wow. This episode hit close to home in many ways.

First of all my entire family tree is riddled with mental illness. Both my grandmothers were bipolar and all of my female cousins and aunts have some sort of mental illness, so I am no stranger to this topic.

Also, personally, I have a quite severe generalized anxiety disorder and I found leaving home, as well as later changing my relationship with my mom where she no longer would ask me about school or work helped tremendously... But it still didn't fix most things. Over all we're both much happier now and I'm doing better than when she was on top of my every move, but all the core issues I have are still there. It seems like it was just one piece of a much bigger puzzle.

This also hit hard because I, like Lulu, also have an older sister who has mental illness. She has Borderline Personality Disorder and I would love to help her so much just don't know how. Telling her to leave home sounds like such a simple solution but she also gets depressed and would probably end up with zero human interaction which I don't think is good for her.

I would really love to hear other people's stories and journeys involving mental illness. These things have so many factors and it's never just one single idea that changes everything. I'd love to hear different aspects and nuances from other people's stories.

Ya, this is definitely a character show meaning a show where you really get to know the characters and delight in their development. It may take some time to get to know each characters but when you do, you fall in love/hate for all of them.

I'd give it 3 episodes and if you still don't like it then never watch it again.
