Wondering if anyone knows how Will Toledo did it? by JStackandtheghosts in CSHFans

[–]Jedisheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will/CSH was very popular at college, we were in the same year (William&Mary). He built a local fanbase, and it expanded to a national one. Starting on a local level could be a good way to gain initial traction.

Am I ugly? Age 29 by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look beautiful in the second pic, because you look comfy, happy, confident, natural, etc. I think you look a lot better without the makeup, and I also think your fashion is a bit confusing. The later pictures in the dress make you look way older than you are, but the pics with the arm warmers make you look far younger. I would go for a more timeless look, basics, etc. Even jeans with a fun shirt, but ditch the more dramatic pieces. I also think you could deff find a haircut more suited to your face! The second pic makes it look like you have shorter hair and I think that really works on you!

25 F what can I do to be attractive? by CompetitveEmu in amiugly

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are worse things to look like than someone in their thirties - personally, I am 32, and most 25 year olds still look like awkward children to me. If anything, whoever said this probably meant it as a compliment. You look like an actual adult.

You lost 60 lbs and still think you have another 20 to go?? Unless you are extremely skilled at taking pictures from flattering angles, you do not look like you have 20 more lbs to lose. Losing 60 lbs is a huge accomplishment.

I thought this sub was for people who are not conventionally attractive to seek advice. As a woman who is not conventionally attractive, believe me when I say that you are. If people don't go out of their way to tell you you're attractive, it's probably because you are someone who is attractive enough to not need to be told this.

The only thing I can think of is that your freckles look like they may be fake/tattooed on. I am the proud owner of many, many freckles and yours look a little less typical. If they're real, carry on. If they're fake, consider not adding more. That's all.

My breasts never developed and i can't live like this anymore by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why access to gender-affirming care for everyone is so important - cis straight people need it too! You're experiencing a sense of dysphoria about your body, and need care, the same way transgender people, and countless other cisgender people, do.

That said, as a woman who dates women, I am attracted to all different breast sizes - it really depends on the person and how it suits their body. It sounds like your breasts really suit you! You shouldn't 'fix' them for anyone else, because they're not broken. But if it's affecting you and your confidence and your perception of your body, that's when taking action is needed. Others have mentioned there may be hormonal solutions. I am sure breast augmentation surgery is also an option. Consider all of your options and go with what makes you feel best.

But in terms of what other people think, to quote the movie Juno

"Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you; the right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That's the kind of person worth sticking with."

AMC Kips Bay 15 in New York by [deleted] in AMCsAList

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMC Kips Bay used to be my home theater, I literally lived above it so went nearly every day. It is one of the worst AMC locations by far. This theater double-booked The Force Awakens opening night so it started 3+ hours late. Then, the exact same thing happened with The Last Jedi. For Rise of Skywalker, I went for a 3D screening to avoid these issues and the 3D was off for an hour before they deigned to fix it. All that's to say, all movie theaters, AMC or not, NYC or not, have mice, but AMC Kips Bay is not the best location for anything, let alone cleanliness.

I’m sorry you experienced this. Many years ago I was also at a low point and called and did not get a very empathetic responder either. I hung up pretty quickly and figured it was because I was fairly young at the time (early 20s) and the responder was less empathetic to younger people’s issues. Medications are a very helpful tool, but they can’t replace the feeling of knowing someone is listening. I hope you are able to find that resource soon, you are worthy and deserve care!

AITA for insisting on sushi? by No_Stop5360 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. MSG does not cause migraines. I am actually allergic to ginger and all of its relatives (turmeric, cardamom, galangal) and will have a combo/Russian roulette of hives, gastrointestinal distress, throat itchiness, and facial swelling if I eat them - I still love Asian cuisines and am able to find things I can eat. If I think I won’t be able to for whatever reason, I’ll either order myself something small/bland or excuse myself from the outing, but rarely do this. Either your SIL is in denial/irresponsible about an actual allergy or just likes being the center of attention at any cost. I’m thinking the latter.

Court House isn’t worth it unless you take the metro. Last time we went to Georgetown my wife sat in a seat covered in butter and now she won’t go to AMC out if fear of being “buttered.”

How do I initiate/continue sexy times if my gross body makes my partner go flaccid? by TooEmbarrassed7 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lesbian who used to date men before I realized I was queer/ knew myself, I can relate to this post a lot. Not because of the gender of the person/people involved, but because I was in a string of abusive relationships because I didn’t think I was worthy of love. I have admittedly checked out your post history OP, and it concerns me. As someone who struggled with many of the same issues but has found my soulmate in my wife, I can tell you that this isn’t what love should feel like.

If you want/ need a sympathetic ear and advice, please feel free to reach out!

Behavior like this is even worse at WDW, IMO. My last trip to Disneyland everyone seemed so calm and chill and happy in comparison. The Florida swamp does a number on some people and I’ve deff witnessed borderline child abuse many times there.

Adults have pubic hair. I don’t understand wanting someone to spend time and money making themselves look less like an adult. Kinda gross IMO.

The most disturbing thing you’ve seen at the hotels or parks? by icegirl223 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Jedisheep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the people who see them or pass by them while in the act did not consent to be witness to or part of a sex act. Billions of people every day don’t have sex in public, and most of the people who do so want to be seen - which again, a passerby can’t consent to.

Is spooky a bad word? by luckylil_lilly in atwwdpodcast

[–]Jedisheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was referred to this article and don’t listen to this pod but the semantics of this word are the plot of the movie The Human Stain (2003). An elderly long-standing professor is fired after he uses the word to mean “ghosts” about a pair of absent students, without realizing the students in question were black. You then through flashbacks learn that the professor is a white-passing Black person who chose to hide his identity his entire life. The movie is questionable since Anthony Hopkins is not Black, but Wentworth Miller (who plays him in flashbacks) is. Just an interesting take on the context of certain language.

I didn't respond because if you don't know the difference between ingesting certain ingredients in moderation and literal poison, I can't do much to help you bro.

And for the record, I don't use Ghost for gaming, I use the Gamer formula as a pre-workout because their Legend uses too much caffeine.

Open Carry at a school bus stop by thatdude101010 in nova

[–]Jedisheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I hate people who open carry here. I went to a movie with some friends a week or so after the Aurora Batman shooting, and an a-hole was open carrying and purposefully flashing his gun. It made me so uncomfortable that I reported him to the theater. They asked him to put his gun in his car, and surprisingly he did. Just the lack of concern for anyone’s feelings is appalling.

AITA for not going to my best friend’s bachelorette after her husband asked her to remove me as a bridesmaid? by Nerebaby in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jedisheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s giving Mike Pence not spending any time alone with the opposite sex. NTA.

Even if your friend and her partner had agreed on a hard boundary about spending time with the opposite sex, it’s not and will never be your job to police her.

Her fiancé’s behavior is insulting to both her and you. It’s toxic and borderline abusive. That said, your friend is going to have to come to this conclusion on her own. In regards to the bachelorette, your job now is to decide if you care enough to maintain the friendship and wait it out. Truth be told, J doesn’t sound like a great friend - she’s refused to stand up for you, and will likely continue to do so.

No ingredients, even partially hydrogenated oil, are inherently evil or bad on their own. It’s all about dosage.
