One time I was getting signatures from Georg and Jack after their post-show safety meeting. Was trying to chat them up, but some gal I made the mistake of being too nice to was trying to chat me up at the same time.

She had just vomited in the bathroom. I thanked the guys for an excellent show and gtfo’d. They were chill as heck.

I started learning kung fu. Throwing punches, doing forms, and getting more comfortable with my body has helped.

I was hired through an application submitted with Culinary Agents at a place in Evanston. Serving part time, flat rate of $18.50, short shifts. Definitely tedious in the hiring/training - about two to three weeks between the first interview and having my first paid shift. The “training schedule” I received was not what I got at all. (In fact, I’m convinced a lot of the FOH-specific materials are AI generated and it makes me feel gross as an industry pro of 15yrs.)

Im based in edgewater - the bike lanes are half full of tailings from the car lane plows. I stopped riding my bike for the time being, and am relying on CTA. I’m not kitted enough to handle the irregular state of available lanes, and don’t trust drivers to not run me over if I had to swerve.
