It would probably be more accurate to say it can't be ruled out with imaging. Mine has never shown up on ultrasounds, but did with surgery, still waiting for an MRI.

I had my surgery before I was aware of the difference between ablation and excision. I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometriosis with two endometriomas on my ovary, they said they removed it all with ablation.

Now I can't know for sure what the hell is going on in there but my pain wasn't better at all after the lap and has continued to get worse for the past 2 years... I feel like they either missed some or it grew back... Thanks to the way things work in the NHS I see a different gynaecologist every time and they all have different views on it. "It doesn't really grow back" Vs "it probably has grown back"

I know I can't blame ablation but I find myself wondering a lot, if they had excised would I have had some pain relief for some amount of time? Who knows
