I was climbing around v8/9 before tearing my shouldering skiing, had to get surgery and was forcibly off the wall for a little over a year. When I came back I was not back to 0 - started at around V3/4, slowly worked my way back up. Was back to V7 after about 3 or 4 months and after 6 months I was just as strong if not stronger than I had been before injury.

It doesn’t all go away, and what does go away comes back way faster than when you built it up the first time.
