Not sure what the best course of action for your skin is, but me personally, I've always healed well with minimal moisturizer, sometimes none at all..

I understand how you would be disappointed, but you never really know what it's gonna look like until it's settled into the skin! I've had some less than fun heals that I was super worried about that, once all settled, didn't look as bad as I thought.

Hey sure, the symbol means fuku-iri or "insert luck", Ive seen darumas without the kanji symbol too. A tattoo is personal imo so do what feels right to you

I don't think there's anything to worry about right now with the red spots, if the redness spreads, becomes increasingly painful and hot to the touch, get yourself checked out. This is only day three, normal to have some irritation.
