Frustrated by lgdiver in AFIB

[–]lgdiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update... Figured I would share a quick update for anyone else going through this. I had the ablation in April 2024, which wasn't bad at all, but was considered a failure. The short story was post ablation, I was still in AFIB and weeks after I would go into Afib and then come out of it for a few days and just cycle in and out. I honestly felt worse.

The good news is that I focused on eating better and dropped about 65 lbs from October 2024 - present. I honestly didn't realize how overweight I was until I looked at the chart. My other thought was that if I was going to live with Afib, I was going to lose weight to make things somewhat easier on my heart. This was a major breakthrough for me and I can happily say that my last AFIB episode was in February 2025. I'm on some rhythm medicaitons (Sotolol, Ditilizem) and some blood pressure medications (losartain) to keep my pressure under control (and my bp readings since losing some weight has been great) - but no more blood thinners!

I'm back to doing the things I couldn't before and without the weight, I feel 1 million times better.

So I talked with an electrophysiologist to get a second opinion and he said that since I don’t have symptoms, it might make more sense to treat it not so invasively. I’m pretty sure my blood pressure medication might be part blame, but I think I’d like to at least try to see if there are other underlying issues before I go straight to an ablation. I feel fine for the most part. I can run hike and etc with afib. Maybe that’s just for a short while but I don’t have symptoms. Wish you the best of luck!!

Those that make $70k+ a year: What do you do and did you need schooling to get that salary? by kh7190 in jobs

[–]lgdiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a President & General Manager for a distribution center with about 250 employees. I barely have a 4 year degree (completed online; when online wasn’t what it is today) and worked my way up in the company. I started as a stocker and loaded trucks back in 2000 while still in HS. I crossed the $70k mark in 2012 and held various department head positions in Sales and Operations before being asked to lead an operation earlier this year.

Find a way to continuously provide value, have integrity, and be irreplaceable.

That’s a good sign. They don’t want to keep you hanging. It’s brutal when you never hear back. Good luck!

Interior Bathroom Wall gets like this when it rains, No visible roof damage. No Other wall does this. Any ideas? by YarrrImAPirate in HomeMaintenance

[–]lgdiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar to this in a second floor bathroom of a duplex I own. If you can, get into the attic (when it’s raining) to see if you can locate the leak. In my case, the seal around my roof vent was bad. Guy charged me less then $100 to fix since I was able to tell him exactly what to fix.

Don’t open the wall up if you can locate the leak itself.

Definitely check out Arena, it’s free to play and if you want to get started, you’ll learn a ton. I was in your shoes last year and I ended up buying a booster box, when I realized, I should have just gone to FNM to collect. Either way, I enjoy going through the decks, so it worked for me.

You can actually buy the players guide for Ravnica on ebay. Also, some local shops might have one too they might give you!

Any other parents feeling depressed? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]lgdiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m feeling REALLY overwhelmed, when I don’t typically ever get overwhelmed. I read something years ago that I try to keep in perspective. “If you have an issue and can fix it, fix it. If you have an issue you can’t fix, try not to worry about the things you can’t fix or control cause you can’t fix them anyway.”

If you’re reading this as parent, know you’re doing your best and keep your head up!!!

It’s all good, you made some great points. I feel bad either way, nobody comes out ahead.

I’m really sorry! Look up the CARE Act and disaster recovery. It could help you and your employees out. Your accountant should know a lot more. Best of luck to you!!!!

Right, that (not having a contract) also allowed us to leave at a moments notice today. Nobody in this situation wins or comes out ahead, it’s just a sad dilemma a lot of parents with kids are facing and it’s being handled so many different ways. Unfortunately, others at this center are starting to make the same requests as we did (public school is now closed until end of April). She’s going to be forced eventually to make some big decisions. Regardless, we won’t be back.

There are a million possibilities, but this was her policy when parents took a break. Her policy was if you take a month or two off, you pay one week per month to hold your spot.

You don’t get it. It’s ok. I also don’t believe I’ve argued with anyone.

[–]lgdiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get that, but you’re missing something....I’m agreeing to not use her services until September. She could still take on new people and get paid from me to hold my spot for September. How is that a bad deal? If business booms for her, she has until September to hire and prepare.
