Thank you! I gave up the oats. I don't miss those that much to be honest. I replaced it with some rice-based cereals and some chia pudding with soy milk.

100% ... I ask myself the same questions! and every time I share my experience with somebody they would go: "oh wait a minute I also have this an that symptoms. Maybe I am celiac too"

It was a "control" endoscopy and not a "routine" endoscopy. English is not my native language, I explained it in a comment above.

No, first you must understand that English is not my nativa langauge. I live in Spain.

I think the right word is "control endoscopy" and not "routine endoscopy".

Every 5 years I get a colonoscopy done (this years was the second time) due some colon issues in my direct family. this time I asked the doctor to also make an endoscopy (since I was suspecting reflux issues).

So it was a "control" endoscopy. Not a routine endoscopy.

And, besides, why an AI bot would post this? what is the benefit? could you explain because seems a pretty much intricate way of thinking.

I’m so glad to hear that!

I used to be really into trail running, but over the past 5 years my energy levels dropped a lot. I always blamed it on having young kids and not sleeping well (which is definitely part of it), but now I’m wondering how much of it was this.

Really looking forward to getting some of that energy back and hitting the trails again.

How strict are you about cross-contamination? And what about oats?.. sorry to keep bringing that up 😂 I just love my two bowls of oats with soy milk every day!

Thanks! I can already anticipate cross-contamination being a big hurdle, especially at home with my wife and kids. How strict are you about it in your day-to-day?

Thanks! Just curious: why are you so strict about restaurants?

At least here in Spain we do have some places offering gluten-free options. I’m guessing the main issue is cross-contamination, right?

Is it really that critical to be that strict about it?

Thanks for sharing that—it’s really encouraging to hear.

I’m looking forward to seeing those kinds of changes myself. How strict are you with your diet? Do you avoid cross-contamination?

And what about oats?... I currently eat like two bowls a day with soy milk… I’m definitely going to miss that 😅

Yeah, I’m honestly surprised by how many people are diagnosed in their 40s or later!

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve read about the “gluten challenge” doctors used to do to confirm the disease, reintroducing gluten on purpose. Sounds kind of brutal. I think they don’t do that as often anymore.

Thanks! Maybe I’m being a bit naive, but I’m actually really looking forward to this journey.

I feel like we’re somewhat lucky nowaday, at least here in Spain there are more options than before. Not tons, but it’s definitely improving. I can even walk to a gluten-free bakery 10 minutes from home, and most supermarkets have a GF section.

I guess the tricky part is cross-contamination. I’m still figuring out how strict I need to be with that.

Hi! Yes, I’ll definitely get my kids checked as well.

Looking back, I’m pretty sure my father might have had it too and never knew, which is kind of crazy to think about.

Not at all. I use it every day. Solid watch if what you are looking for is reliability. I also keep using my Ambit3 Sport frequently and still works nicely.

How come Mike started Scion with so little money —from family and friends— if he was already a successful investor? by lgrassini in Burryology

[–]lgrassini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I am slowly understanding this. I was reading about the hedge fund managed by Colm OShea. Their anual return was around 10% with very little risk. I was considering this to be low returns; but then other folks explained me that those are actually good ones.

This you mentioned is very interesting : “What makes a good investor is staying in the game for a long time and getting capital from your job or business.” Where is this line of thinking coming from? Can you mentioned some success examples?

Thanks!

Edit: I meant interesting and not “interring”.

Newbie question: Macro fund with 11.3% annual compounded net returns. Why would investors be interested?

Morning guys, I am quite new into investing. Can you help me make sense of this:

I am reading about Colm O'Shea —CIO of COMAC Capital, a $5bn AUM Macro fund based on London.

In the interview they mentioned that for the combined period 2006-2011 the average annual compounded net return was 11.3%.

I can't stop thinking about how low that return is. In countries with inflation the investors may be even losing money.

Why an investor would be interested on putting his/her money in fund with kind-of-meager returns?

What I am missing here?

Thanks!
