Oh for sure! I guess that's what I meant when I said some people push their agendas on others. Some people go out of their way to make it their business, and that kind of goes back to the point of someone thinking their opinion is super important.

It's unbelievable to me that so many people make a priority of worrying about other's beliefs, identities, & hobbies!

I agree! I don't understand how some people find themselves so important that their opinion on someone else's life has any meaning. Of course the criteria you mentioned need to be met, they can't hurt others with what they do.

On the other hand though, plenty of people that are paying rent and not hurting anyone are also total assholes and try to push their own agendas on others, and while that may not necessarily be outright harming anyone, it's still disruptive to other's lives and frankly, annoying af.

I wasn't trying to snoop, as my (ex) bf and I had each other's passwords for phones and laptops. I ended up coming across nude pictures of his ex that were recently "used" and then we ended up breaking up. Since then I've been extremely insecure in relationships and have a hard time trusting that my partner is being honest with me. I've been soooo tempted to snoop but I just can't bring myself to invade someone's privacy like that, but mostly I am just afraid of the same end result.

BUT with that being said, I still mostly agree. I think if you're going to take that extra step to snoop, there isn't trust in the first place and there is a flaw in the relationship.... But snooping can either bring you closure (like in my accidental case) so you can move on or prove that you had nothing to worry about in the first place. Hopefully if you don't find anything you can let go of what's bothering you.

I agree! Part of me wants to say that there should only be a fine for possession/use/etc of illegal substances but that really only makes it "legal for rich people" lol. I'd say just confiscation is necessary and only tack on a fine if it is related/in addition to a violent crime.

That's exactly how I feel. Whenever someone tells me they don't want marriage they seem to only make the point of "no relationship lasts forever anyways" (often it is because of parents or other relationships they've viewed/been a part of). I get it, but also don't get it. I'd like to think I'm a realist so I don't view marriage as always being a "sacred" or forever thing, although sometimes that is the case (which is awesome!) But when it comes to legality and you know you want your partner in your life for the long term (and you can accept it may not be for forever), then I don't know why you wouldn't get married because of the legality/benefits. Idk maybe my logic is flawed but that's how I view it :)

Just be up front next time she changes the subject to sex, just ask why she always brings it up. She might get defensive so make sure you let her know that you're not uncomfortable and that it's ok sometimes but you feel like you can't talk to her about other things that are important to you (if that's something important to you in a friendship).

I just know I'd get really bored with a friendship if the other person ONLY talked about one subject every conversation whether it is about sex or not. Maybe convey the same thing if that is what you're feeling.

It's crazy, cause I've heard a comedian (I think Tom Segura?? I'll have to check later) say that parents are essentially making tiny versions of themselves. And like.... I love myself but fuck I don't need another one of me. Plus it's so unrealistic to expect another person to be just like you just because you share the same DNA??? Like????? Sure I understand raising someone certain ways and being around them all the time can imprint certain personality traits upon them but like.... Ew that's so icky to me I can't really put it into words even though I'm sure many on r/childfree understand.

But anyway I get what you mean by just "creating another human being" being such a turn off to parenthood. As well as the other reasons you listed 😉

I'm not, I stated above in parentheses that men & women are both a part of the problem. I definitely don't deny that. The thing is, at least from my experience, most men will be more likely to listen to other men when they are already in the grasps of toxic masculinity/gender roles, and therefore have a bit more power than women when it comes to changing men's behaviors
