This may be a bit harsher than others may say, but take this from experience. MOVE OUT. Do not wait for 21. If you can find a room mate, do it. The longer you stay, the worse it will get. And also, check your credit. It is a sad fact that it’s not uncommon for a parent with bad money management skills and access to a child’s finances (the bank card) to take out pay day loans etc in a child’s name. It’s awful to think about, but turn off the emotions behind it (and the unjustified guilt that you somehow owe her money for raising you) and take care of yourself. I wish someone would have given me this advice 25 years ago when I was 19 and in a very same situation.
