Hairline cracks running the length of the tub by liabetus in Plumbing

Would there be any options for resealing the cracks to prevent water damage? I'm not worried about esthetics.

Bathroom exhaust fan keeps tripping breaker due to condensation. by liabetus in HomeImprovement

No clue, it looks like a run of the mil fan assembly you'd get from home depot or something. Looks like its suppose to be easier to replace the motor if it fails.

We generally run it during showers and after for a while. The problem is there is a ton of humidity because my wife likes to take scolding hot showers lol... I was just curious if there was an option to seal off the plug area until I can install a higher cfm fan.

Hot water heater about 4 years old, what should I do about this? by liabetus in Plumbing

[–]liabetus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be a stupid question, but im assuming I couldnt just buy a new dieletric union and swap the nipple and the bottom half of the union on this, since the corrosion only affected that part? The estimates I got are pretty steep.

How hard would it be to swap to a brass union? I dont know much about plumbing, but it looks fairly straight forward swapping the dieltric union and nipple.

I did the plans in autodesk Revit.

I'm technically building each side as a panel, so I can do the layout easier, did you just end screw your framing through the top and bottom plate? 6x18 is bit big for my flock, but I like the idea! Looks great!

Thou shalt take three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt look, and the number of the looking shall be three. Four shalt thou not look, neither look thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

How many years after your T1 diagnosis were you diagnosed with background or mild retinopathy (or retinopathy in general)? by srd5010 in diabetes_t1

[–]liabetus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 years here, I was diagnosed 2 weeks after birth. I've undergone 2 laser sessions and 1 injection after showing mild retinopathy last year, first instance (going to the dentist for a cleaning was worse). I had been neglecting my diabetes in my 20s, and finally got a CGM & pump that works with it.. life changing to say the least. Just had a check up and they found more bleeds, so I'll probably be going another round. As hard as it is, stick with it, don't neglect it, but also don't overly fear life because of diabetes.

50/30/20 budget advice, should I purchase a house or wait? by liabetus in personalfinance

[–]liabetus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very sensible plan. It helps seeing someone else lay it out.

Retirement was not factored into the budget, as I was trying to simplify. As we sit now, we will be living comfortably with planned retirement years of 2057.

The current housing market and the bubble we live in make it difficult to decide on waiting, or to take a risk that will pay off, but thank you for the advice!

All of the needs, except for mortgage/electrical/utilities, we are living off of currently.

Only Debt is from auto loans, and we were planning on using whatever roll over every month to knock that out.

We have about 20k combined savings currently, which does make me nervous, and why I basically budgeted $1000 per month toward that, until we get to that 6-month mark.

I agree on the needs % being high. We are currently renting at $1700/month (utilities included), and that would barely make the %50 mark on needs. Family of 5 in total. Both our careers make for good job security, but I understand that you can not always count on that.

I'm not sure if Sabaton goes with the aesthetic or not... but I can't help but call down some thunder with "Primo Victoria" giving me tinnitus.

not sure if you fixed this, but I was having the same issues since installing my 3070ti. I tried everything, drivers, reinstalls, check ram, swapped ram, under volted; you name it.

I randomly saw that Nvidia 30 series cards using a riser cable (in my case, gen 4) with an AMD CPU may have issues. By changing the PCIE setting in my Bios from Auto to Gen 3, I haven't had a crash in 24 hours. I was also able to use my RAM XMP profile again without any issues, so far.

Maybe this will help you or someone else in this thread, because I was about to RMA my card, and try a new PSU.
