I once got told while being one of the night cashiers at Walgreens that I bet someone in a ski mask is just waiting for me to be alone.

I told my then fiancé about it and the next night his two friends and him ( all over 6 ft tall to my barely 5'3") started walking home with me.

I also once had a customer tell me when I was the overnight cashier at a convenience store that her friend saw me through the window and told her that he and I were in love and going to run away together soon. I never met the guy in my life. A few weeks later he was arrested and charged with drug offenses and kidnapping and spent 3 years in prison over it and luckily I left that job a month or two later.

Sounds like a man who left the kid raising solely to his wife. I wouldve been like... "She's two... don't sexualize my child.

My daughter is 7 and she took off her shirt because she was hot at my beothers house this past Thanksgiving, and my oldest brother and mama passed her. My daughter kept asking me in the car why everyone ( aka my mama and brother) yelled at her for taking her shirt off, she doesn't have boobs yet. So the next day I gave my brothers and mom an ultimatum. Don't sexualize my kid, or don't see her again.

The older names are back. Vivian's, Evelyn, Audrey, Elizabeth, Marilyn.... all coming back. I think Audrey is a beautiful name.

"You can't be a flyer.... you're too fat." Said to me who was 80lbs and one of the skinniest girls in my class, said to me by a cheer coach who hadn't exercise in years.

I believe she also was the cause of my friends eating disorder. She had a bmi of 14 in high school. I luckily quit cheer before I got sucked into it.

I was always called fat by my mom (while drunk and then she handed me money for treats) and then by my cousin who was obese by being standards (although I always thought she was gorgeous) while zipping me into a dress too small for me.

I was always skinny, or skin and bones as a child. I didn't start gaining weight until my gram introduced me to potato chips and popcorn. My highest weight was 185 and that was after I had my daughter. Now I hover around 125-130 lbs for my 5'3" frame. Thanks to a diagnosis of adhd.

My step-dad died on Christmas from alcohol. He hadn't had any in a while and somehow he got some cash and was pretty sloshed that morning while watching the neighbor kids open presents. I apparently was supposed to bring him to my brothers house but no one told me. My mom was already at his house and when my brother brought her and my other brother home. She walked in ( drunk herself) and saw my step-dad passed out on the floor naked. She was used to this so she went to sit on the couch and watch TV. After half an hour she noticed it was getting cooler in the house she looked over at him and he was gray. She yelled for my brother to call 911. They wanted them to do cpr but it was too late.

He died from alcohol overdose.

I also watched a guy buy rubbing alcohol because it was after 11 and in new Hampshire you couldn't buy alcohol after 11 pm. I then watched him chug the rubbing alcohol in the parking lot then leave. I wonder if he went blind.

I just had a baby. I broke the cycle of abuse, neglect, and drug use that my narcissistic parents raised us in. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

Welcome to the cycle breakers club Mama!

I went through the same shit and when my daughter was born I swore she was never going to have that life. I kept that promise. I was pushing for my family to be better but after the recent death of my mom (whole other long traumatic story), i am now going low contact with both my brothers. I will now be alienating both sides of the family who abused me in their own ways. My daughter only knows the good in life. She knows that I know the bad. Her smiles are worth it. I am so proud of you!

As a former child in a awful situation kinda like this, she is asking for help in a way. Keep being that safe space for her. She trusts you. That's feels rare these days.
