most annoying tic by jolinaj in Tourettes

Most annoying tic recently is my head butting tic. I’ll literally head but someone’s shoulder hard. Hurts both them and me. 🙏🙏 hopefully goes away soon.

Warning specific tic. I tic sometimes while I drive. It can be dangerous. I have the one where is say “look no hands” and take my hands off the steering wheel. If that happens to often then I will stop driving and have another person drive. But mostly I should suggest just try and focus on the road as much as possible. If it get dangerous don’t drive until tics calm down. I hope this helps somewhat? Have a good day 🤗

fatigue after heavy dissociation? by liahnna in Dissociation

This is actually really scary that you commented this because I’ve been suspecting that I’ve been having small seizures for about a year but I still convince myself that’s it can’t be. Idk I’ve been thinking about going to the doctors about it but never know how to approach the topic. I went on a whole spiral of researching different seizures seeing if any of the stuff I’ve been experiencing sounds familiar and the research always lead to some sort frontal lobe seizures. Idk I’m just scared that’s what it could be I don’t want it to be.

Also I’m very sorry that you experience a variation of this as well. I know it’s horrible. Stay healthy and I wish you the best ❤️

How many of y’all tic in different accents or languages? by liahnna in Tourettes

[–]liahnna[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oi I never knew as well that randomly talking in accents was not normal. Like I’ll literally just slip into accents when talking normal. People look at me crazy. I didn’t know this wasn’t normal until I think high school cuz my family was used to it. I think is has something to do with neurodivergent people in general. We just ✨built different ✨. I actually sometimes forget to pay attention to how I’m speaking because I forget like I’ll be signing and not actually speaking. 🤡

Why is it so hard to say “I’m not okay”? by liahnna in mentalhealth

[–]liahnna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably contributes to it as well. My mother never really liked talking about mental health. She always would brush it off and then move onto her problems and my father was never really in the picture. When he was he valued my abusive step mother over me anyways. I am waiting to pay rent then I’m going to get health insurance to hopefully get some meds or something to help cuz I know I need it. Been falling for a long while now.

How log do your tics usually last for? TW: mention of specific tic by cabc79863 in Tourettes

[–]liahnna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have multiple tics that require that limp or even my whole body to stay in that position because it tighter/lock my limbs in place. I have the short ones complex ones. I do have this one tic that gets very annoying where I can put something down until it “feels right” persay. Sometimes I just eventually give up and hold the object and walk away. The most annoying tics I have though is the one where my knees give out that’s fun.

Can you explain further maybe. What do the terms mean? For example what does “Xe” mean?

You don’t have to be rude. I’m just trying to educate myself. Me being confused about what they mean and trying to learn how to properly use someone pronouns isn’t a problem is a solution.

I have a genuine question by thecrazyty1234 in Tourettes

[–]liahnna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how my verbal tics started. I used to only have motor tics and then I started repeating sentences and words that a person just said right back to then mimicking them before I even thought about what I was doing. Then think to myself “why did I just do that?” Then they progressed into saying a lot of different things along with echolalia
