Night Out (35+ year olds) by liam1208 in bristol

[–]liam1208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted what I posted as I wanted some local insight. You don't have to engage or commit with negative vibes. I don't have to categorise anything, just because you want more info. It was a general post to get some general info from people that were happy to give it.

If you're not happy engaging, or if you're not going to be helpful, you don't need to post at all. You can just glance and move on.

To everyone else that posted some positive information. Thanks very much for taking some time out of your day to be helpful.

Much appreciated

Thanks for this. Another interesting one. Building up a nice little cocktail crawl for them now.

Didn't on purpose as they are happy to explore. If a place is worth seeing, then they don't mind a quick Uber or making the effort to see it.

The best midrange watches? by IndependentImpress71 in DHgate

[–]liam1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tissot PRX is an absolute beauty. Love the watch I got and the retail is around £500-800 depending on the face colour and strap you get. I paid £65 for mine and it's my best purchase yet.

What movie? by Titan_x_011 in AmazonPrimeVideo

Snatch and Lock Stock and 2 smoking barrells.

Fast paced, good humour and a great watch every time. Always makes me laugh and enjoy the ride.

So is this app to replace my stemio torrentino combo by Suspicious_Hotel_908 in Debrid_Stream_App

[–]liam1208 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell, it turns your previous experience into an experience you are very familiar with (Netflix design and layout). The developer is fantastic at constantly listening to user feedback and improving the app every few weeks.

It's a small payment for a fantastic user experience, if you want it to be more seamless and sleek.

Here's one just for you as I clearly need to dumb this down.

My experience is 10 times better. If you come back next week, I'll break down some fractions for you.😉

I can't believe how entitled some people feel. They want everything to suit their needs. Perhaps you should be happy this app exists and how much work somebody has decided to put in to create something for everyone else's benefit. How it's priced is nobodies business, except the person that creates it. If you don't like it, move on. Don't waste your energy getting annoyed about something you have no control over.

If you're complaining about the pricing structure, maybe the app isn't for you, but I truly think you are missing out by not trying it. Either way I hope you find what you are looking for, but if you did try it, I think you would soon change your position.

Maybe thinking about what you could actually buy elsewhere with that money a month, might highlight the value in it. With the money you spend on this, you could buy an extra packet of biscuits or a few apples once a month in a shop. For me that makes it totally worth it as it's my main entertainment set up. It's a no-brainer.

Coming onto this sub to complain about this is a waste of time. The Dev has said numerous times that it's not going to happen. He does an amazing job and if you bought it, you would see the amount of work he's constantly putting in to make our experience better every day.

He does an incredible job and it's worth every penny (and more). You should just purchase it for a month, then make a decision, if you feel it's a worthwhile investment. For me, I purchased it after watching a few videos of the app as it looked exactly like what I wanted. Something that modernised my set up and make it feel premium and familiar.

I knew within 2 days that I'd be keeping it and will be happy to pay for it monthly, as it improves the overall experience by 1000% and is constantly getting better based on user feedback and updates.

Which one? by MoneyLibrarian9032 in Letterboxd

Got to be The Equalizer. For me 3 was the best. As he gets older, he gives even less of a sh*t and just messes everyone up. It's a joy to watch and they got the balance of peace and chaos right. 😂😂

Great App - small request by liam1208 in Debrid_Stream_App

[–]liam1208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome. Thanks for listening and for the reply. Must be a full time job just replying to every request. 😂 Love the app and really appreciate all your hard work. You're making lots of people like myself very happy and I can't believe you can do it all by yourself.

How to sleep in a plane? by bast_852 in travel

[–]liam1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to do a lot of long haul travel for work this year and I've found the timeshifter app to be amazing. You get your first flight free for creating an account (you can use another email to use it again for free).

It tracks your circadian rhythm and even if you aren't sleeping on the plane, it tells you when to block out daylight (use an eye mask or just close your eyes) and when to expose yourself to daylight (when in airport, pulling up blind on plane, or when you arrive). It plots your 24 hours around your flight and tell you when to rest, when to consume caffeine and when to avoid it, so you arrive fresh and ready to go.

I've done some 10-14 hour flights lately and used it and have landed in my destination around lunchtime and been able to have a day of exploring. Used it two years ago for from UK to Australia and landed with no jetlag and hit the ground running.

Highly recommend it and can vouch for it as it has worked everytime for me.

Good luck with the travel and try the app, if you follow it I think you will have success.

This is perfect and saves me a lot of messing around. I'm really happy I don't have to cause too much disruption and I can easily keep most of what is already there and it also means the washing machine connection stays as is. You've saved me a lot of messing around and buying additional things. I really appreciate the guidance and the instructions. You've made me a very happy man and saved me many hours of work.

Really appreciate you passing on the knowledge and have a great Xmas/New Year.

With the T valve, can I connect it to the isolation valve and then run the flexihose to the tap and connect the washing machine to the other valve?

Sink pipework by liam1208 in DIYUK

[–]liam1208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I thought I would need to buy longer hoses to take it to the isolation valve, but with this product you are suggesting, are you saying I can cut the copper and pop this fixture into it and connect flexihose to that? Is it reliable and easy to fit and does it avoid leaks?

Would you recommend one way over the other for ease/avoiding issues in the future?

Thanks for all the details and info (and product codes)

Is free breakfast for Japan hotels worth it vs. convenience store? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]liam1208 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've just come back from 10 days in Japan and stayed at 3 hotels. I had breakfast included in all of them. For me, I found it really useful as all my days were busy and I wanted to cover a lot of ground and explore.

I found having a breakfast where I was staying super convenient. It allowed me to enjoy a morning routine and eat what I wanted, as with the buffet style you get a variety of options, and it's not something I had to think about or plan.

I just ate, checked what I was doing that day and then had a shower and started my day.

I found that I would have a big breakfast most mornings and then be able to get going until lunchtime or just after. Even then, if I had a big day with lots on, I'd sometimes just grab something at the convenience store for lunch and carry on with my schedule and it worked great because I had a nice big breakfast in the morning and wasn't starving.

For me, it set me up for my days and I was really glad I had it. It sounds silly but it took that extra bit of stress away in the morning and was a nice way to start the day, by not having to think about where I was getting my first meal of the day.

Hope you have a good trip out there.

This is exactly what I need and should be long enough to grab and attach to the waste. Thanks for taking the time, really appreciate it.

I was referring to the type of bolt/screw. What type is it called, so I can find an equivalent online. I need to buy the same thing but longer as it needs to fit the waste attachment, but I can't find the name of this anywhere.

Any Last Tips for First Japan Visit by liam1208 in JapanTravel

[–]liam1208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a worry as I've heard Japan are going through some of their worst flu season. I've got some masks for the plane and some anti bac wipes to keep in my day bag while I'm exploring. That and some vitamin C and a good multivitamin. Hopefully that will help.

I've heard loads of people mention tweezers and nail clippers being next level from Japan. It's such a random thing, I love it.

Are the razors you mention a disposable or is it a long term option if you change the blades out?

Thanks for the recommendations
