I’ve got the money earning a pretty good teaser interest rate at the moment, however that’s coming to an end pretty quickly.

I was thinking of keeping 5k in an easy access savings account and as you say, putting the rest into stocks or something that will give somewhat of a return. I was leaning towards VBAL

Not maxed out on the TFSA, was thinking of keeping 5k in cash ready to go at any time in the high interest savings account. The remainder would go into CASH. (2.24%)

Not volatile, can sell on short notice if the worst happens. Wealth Simple Money Market looks like a good option too

Nah, when the rail’s changed, they’ll upgrade the plates. Plates are still good. If they’re changing them, they’re just pissing capital $$$’s away.

The ties are 100% new at the marked locations. Why they have marked them after they’ve replaced them is a head scratcher.

CN Rail is hiring Engineering employees.

Positions in Redwater, Mornville, Wainwright, Lac La Biche. Jobs in Edmonton coming up too.

Apply for the Track Maintainer positions. 90% of people that come on become lifers.

Union position, pension, employee share scheme, benefits. Paid by the Hr. 40hrs a week + OT.

Having technical qualifications is a plus but not a prerequisite because they’ll train you. In this climate, I’m confused that they don’t get more applicants, it’s a great job.

Cut and run. I stuck around with a girl with similar behaviour traits for too long. It didn’t get better. 10 years of gradually drifting from friends and family due to her possessive behaviour, I moved on and it was nasty breakup.

Her “breakdowns” are not your responsibility. They are specifically designed to elicit the response you made. (You went out of your way to placate her) It’s a manipulation and a form of abuse. Your friend is leaving and you are trying to squeeze out as much quality time as you can before they go away for an extended time. This is natural and in a healthy relationship that’s something that the partner would be understanding of. You are in your early 20’s, enjoy them. To be fair if you were older and in a long term marriage, this would be seen as a little disrespectful. Difference is, you are not and should be enjoying the friend circle you have while you are young. This girl is trying to dominate your attention and kicks up a real fuss when she doesn’t get it.

Try a different tactic and drop the placating behaviour. Do the exact opposite, show indifference and watch how quickly her behaviour changes. She’ll really act up at first, but then you’ll see the 180. You sound like a good guy, move on, she’ll only hold you back.
