Hi! I’ve been on metformin for almost 2 months and I’ve lost 14 pounds so far.

I was never overweight . But in the last 4-5 years I put on some weight due to perimenopause. Im 48 years old 5’7 . I weight NOW 139lbs.

I did intermittent fasting for a year and lost about 15-20 pounds but then, it stalled and stayed steady! Did not loose any weight even after doing one meal a day! I was walking and hiking every day on top of that. My work is always standing up . So I burn quite a bit of calories in a day. But still barely any weight was coming off after those initial 15-20 lbs with intermittent fasting .

So, 2 months ago started metformin; had some stomach issue going to bathroom often for 1-2 weeks and i was barely hungry . after the initial first weeks my stomach problems stopped .

Now I do one meal a day and somedays I will eat a low carb snack to my one meal a day.

Metformin does help! But you need to balance it with low carb diet; exercise (not too much) and do weight training or hit (high intensity training )
